Greetings! Chris here, and I am excited to share this Colorful Autumn Mixed Media Canvas I created with my Simple Stories Simple Vintage Country Harvest Kit from FotoBella! The colors in this line are just so beautiful -Stunning Yellows, bright Oranges, blues and greens! There is just so much to love in this line! As soon as I saw this kit I wanted to make a Mixed Media canvas. The idea took a few days to “cook” in my brain but here is the result. So let’s get started.

How to create your Colorful Autumn Mixed Media Canvas

Start by painting your 8 x 10 canvas board brown and let dry.

Now to let you in on a little secret, I just grabbed the brown paint I had laying on my table and wasn’t “sold” on the dried color. For the next step, to distress it up a bit grab a background stamp and stamp the edges with black ink. Once again I grabbed the first stamp I found laying on my desk and started stamping. Thinking I should really clean off my desk, maybe?

Cut a 7 x 9 inch piece of Nature’s Wonder paper and distress the edges of paper.

Adhere your distressed paper to your canvas.

Punch holes in each corner of canvas and string jute around your canvas.

Adhere Country Harvest Chipboard frame upside down onto canvas. (yes! UPSIDE DOWN ... we wont the from look but don’t need the fall leaves or sentiment. )

Add scraps of frayed burlap to your canvas. I only glue center to let the burlap lift for a little extra dimension.

Cut 4 x 6 Element from Simple Stories Simple Vintage Country Harvest - 12x12 Collector''s Essential Kit and mat on Brown from Basic Paper Kit. Now, add to your canvas using dimensional adhesives on the edges as shown.

Add sticker tag, Harvest leaf bit from your Simple Stories Simple Vintage Country Harvest - 12x12 Collector''s Essential Kit and a butterfly Foam sticker onto your frame.

Next, add “wonders of autumn” sticker to your matted Autumn Element.

Add doily to edge of canvas and add “COLORFUL” Foam sticker from the Simple Stories Simple Vintage Country Harvest - Foam Stickers. I did a dimensional adhesive under the C and O and L so that the entire word was at one level.

Finishing your Colorful Autumn Mixed Media Canvas

Add harvest brad, layered pumpkin sticker, a few flowers, and of course a jute bow to finish off your Colorful Autumn Mixed Media Canvas.
