Simple Stories Farmhouse Garden Mini Album

Hello Friends, Diane here today to share with you a fun and exciting new mini album. I have used the beautiful Simple Stories Vintage Farmhouse Garden paper collection.

This collection is absolutely fantastic with it’s farmhouse charm. Lots of chickens, pigs, cows and roosters. It also has vegetables, butterflies, lettuce, peas and lots of beautiful color like blue, peach, green and black. Come take a look at what I created.

Simple Stories Details

I had fun making this shaker cover utilizing a chipboard frame from the collection. Using so many colors of sequins and seed beads for the shaker element. I also adorned the front cover with Little Birdie flowers, a doily, puffy stickers from the collection and Really Reasonable Ribbon. I even hand made the special charm dangle on the spine of the album.

These papers were so fun to work with and I just about used them all. I’d be lucky to get a card out of my scraps.

Simple Stories Shaker Album Photo Gallery

I have set up a photo gallery for you to view. Come take a look at the album in pictures:

In Simple Stories recent collections, they have come out with lovely chipboard frames. I wanted to use all of them together in one project. So I decided that I would place a chipboard frame on each page of my mini album. I have left the top of each frame open so one can personalize it with their own photos. It was so much fun creating this book. I just wished I had more papers because I used them all!!!

I have produce a project share video for you to enjoy. This is a really easy album to construct. It measures 8x8 with an 8 x 2 3/4” spine. My pages measure 7 3/4 x 7 3/4.

Elegant Coffee Dyed Journal

Hello Friends, Diane here to share with you some new inspiration using the Graphic 45 Elegance collection.

This Lovely collection is full of roses, florals, foliage, stripes and geometric designs. The beautiful white and pink florals pop off the papers. This collection reminds me of Paris and has vintage dress forms, dresses, perfume bottles and fans. It’s an elegant lady like collection. I just adore the pink with the black and grey color combination. It’s beautifully elegant.

Inspiration comes to you

One Saturday morning I had decided to Coffee dye some paper. I had not ever tried this before, so I watched some YouTube videos on the subject and went to town dying all kind of papers and trying different techniques to get different patterns and effects. Using several cookie sheets, made some instant coffee and soaked the papers in the pans. I also pulled out various paint brushes, some coffee cups, toothpicks, dish soap for bubbles and played with individual sheets of paper until I had different effects on the papers. I had a blast and I wore myself out playing that day.

Then, not long after that, Fotobella sent me this gorgeous Graphic 45 collection. Once I saw these beautiful papers, I decided to use my new coffee dyed papers to make my very first journal.

The cover of the journal is made from chipboard that I wrapped with black 65lb cardstock by Recollections. Next, I wrapped the spine with a pink rose fabric from my stash. Then, I put together 3 signatures with the coffee paper, graph paper, Graphic 45 paper and music sheets. I sewed in the 3 signatures into the book. Then I decorated the signatures with the beautiful G45 Elegance collections papers, ephemera and stickers. Below I have a series of photos for you to view. Just click on the arrows on the side of the photo for some inspiration.

I also decided to include a video showing each page of the G45 journal for further inspiration.
