Fall Greetings! Chris here, and am I excited to share how to add gold accents to the greeting cards I created using my Prima Marketing guest design team kit from Fotobella.com.
The Prima Marketing and PhotoPlay Kit
My kit featured papers and stamps and ephemera from PhotoPlay’s All Hallows Eve Collection and accents from Prima’s Autumn Sunset collection. As you can see, the PhotoPlay collection has so many colorful papers and ephemera, and even coordinating stamps! Still, I have to admit I have never played with Prima Paint before and while I was super excited to try it out, I was also little nervous to play. However, I knew it would be perfect for adding gold accents to my projects.
Card 1 with Prima and PhotoPlay
This cute card was the first project I created with my kit. Remember that I mentioned I was a little nervous about playing with the Prima Gold Acrylic Paint, so I refused to move on to my next project until I incorporated the gold paint somewhere!
Start by Cutting your All Hallows Eve papers. Using a paint brush (or paper towel), as gold accents with paint to the edges of your papers.
Note: this Prima paint is thick! Allowing your dimension and brush strokes to show. Next, mat papers onto black card stock. Add both paper panel to card base. You can see some of the dimension in the gold accent below.
Creating the Stamp Focal Image
Stamp images onto masking paper or sticky note to create a mask. If you are using a sticky note be sure to stamp image onto the sticky side of the note.
Detail cut those images. Stamp jack-o-lanterns using Photoplay’s All Hallows Eve stamps. Use Masks to create dimension in your stamped image.
Color your images using your favorite markers.
Add Stamped image to card and add ephemera to finish. Add extra gold accents using the Prima Say it Crystals.
Card #2
For this card I wanting to try to utilize the dimensional features of the Prima Acrylic paints.
After cutting paper from the All Hallows Eve Collection, secure a stencil over papers and apply Prima Gold Paint using a pallet knife over stencil.
Gently remove stencil to reveal your stunning gold accent.
Mat onto coordinating papers and add to kraft card base. Add a jute bow and Prima flowers to finish your card.
Just look at the dimension this paint adds. In hind sight I wish I had painted the edges of my papers for more gold accents.
I hope you are inspired to try and add gold accents to your projects!
