Sir Vagabond in Japan Travel Journal: Let’s Take a Peek Inside

Sir Vagabond in Japan travel journal

Hi crafty friends. It’s Kristine and I’m back today with one final post to share my Sir Vagabond in Japan journal with you. If you’re just tuning in, check out my last two posts for the FotoBella blog. In those posts, I show how to create four journal inserts and how to use rice papers for journal covers. Today, I would like to share the final product with you.

In my journal, there are digital papers chosen to compliment the Sir Vagabond in Japan collection. These papers feature Japanese inspired images, steampunk images, and old world maps. When I look at the collection, the red colors stand out. So my journal includes pops of red to accent the papers.

Also, for more of a steampunk look, I chose to use my Graphic 45 regular tag die set which includes a plate of die cut gears. The gold paper gives it the metallic steampunk touch. These tiny details emphasize the Sir Vagabond in Japan papers, but in a muted way.

Using Items from the Sir Vagabond in Japan Collection

Personally, I like to use my collection papers for making the ephemera and embellishing journals rather than as pages. The Sir Vagabond in Japan Backgrounds are ideal for this task since they don’t contain many images. Then, I use the fussy cut pieces from the Collectables papers to add images to the journal pieces.

Adding some dimension to my journal was easy using the Sir Vagabond in Japan Decorative Chips. These pieces are thin so they do not add much bulk. However, the pieces look cute as embellishments on tags and pages.

To see a complete flip through of my travel journal, please check out the video below. I hope seeing my journal has inspired you to create a project of your own. Don’t forget to check out the FotoBella online store for all of your scrapbooking needs!

Until next time, happy crafting!
