Halloween door decor and cute scrapbook page

Hi all, can you believe that Halloween is almost here? If you are like me,I don’t have my Halloween box of decorations down yet because i have been busy . But ,what’s the crafty girl to do? Make your own Halloween decor of course! So, today I’m stopping by to share a large paper wreath I made using the simple stories say cheese Halloween collection. First I took four 12 x 12 coordinating pattern papers and cut them all in half so that each pattern paper you have to strips paper for each. I then accordion fold every piece .I then connected them all together to make one long strip. Next, I took the two ends and glue them together which will form your circular base. Set that aside now and grab a piece of cardboard or cereal box . Cut a 12 inch circle. Now at the 12 inch circle of cardboard will be your base for holding your strip of accordion circle paper. Shape your accordion strip to a circle put down glue on your base and lay it on top . Now cut a 4 inch circle of a coordinating patterned paper to cover the middle hole and glue down . Then ,embellish the center with stickers or chipboard stickers from the collection . Last I punched two holes on the top and put a ribbon through so to hang the paper wreath.

Now, you know i Just had to make a scrapbook page too -For this page i used the polka dot pattern paper for the background and then layered the purple wrmk cardstock paper on top and doodled around the edges with a black marker. I used its of pattern papers from the collection to mat my photo of my middle daughter and then embellished with cutaparts, stickers, diecuts and chipboard stickers to frame the photo some more.

Design Team Project - Christmas Treasures

Fotobella Design Team - Christmas Treasures

Hi everyone, I'm Laurie and am so excited to be part of the 2019-2020 Fotobella Design Team. Before I share my first project with you, let me tell you a little about myself. I have been crafting for over 30 years and have done so many types of crafts. I started out making wood and cloth items which I sold at craft shows and to some local stores. I loved it! I was lucky enough to be able to be a stay-at-home mom while my son was growing up and I had a husband who was a great supporter! He would cut my wood on the weekends so I could spend the week painting and staining. But, after years of being self-employed, I decided to get a real job and I went back to school. All it really got me was deeper in debt and tired...lol! Now, I am retired, widowed, and a craft addict! I live with my mom and we craft our hearts out together! When I take a day off it is usually to spend some time with my son and daughter-in-law and my two precious 1-year old twin grandsons. They are truly the lights of my life! Well, enough about me....let's get crafting!

I was super excited when I opened my design team package and found the Christmas Treasures collection by BoBunny inside! It had been sitting in my online cart waiting for me to push that "purchase" button so I was already contemplating the fun I could have with it before it even arrived. This collection is a wonderful vintage nostalgic blend of rich colors and beautiful graphics. As soon as I saw this page, I knew exactly what I wanted to do with it:

Christmas Treasures Reindeer

Living in the Midwest, I have seen many deer heads mounted on walls. And these were just too cute not to hang on my wall! So, I cut the squares apart but they were a bit large for my d├ęcor piece. So, I fussy cut each one along the edges of the picture frame portion of the 3x4 cut-apart. They came out perfect! Then I used Walnut Stain Distress Ink to "dirty" up the edges for a vintage effect:

I cut out each of the reindeer and the piece with the Sleigh Rides sign. I used the backside of the Christmas Treasures Dear Santa page for my background because it has a terrific reindeer border. After all the pieces were ready, I attached them with pop dots to give them some dimension. Then I added some of the large candy dots in between to add a little embellishment. I didn't want to go too crazy with that because I really wanted the reindeer to be the "stars of the show." When it was all finished, I put it in a 12x12 black shadowbox frame. I just love the way it turned out!

I hope you enjoy my first project with this amazing collection. I can't wait to share more with you during the next few weeks! You can purchase all of the products I used here. Grab yours today and craft along with me!

How to Make A Toddler Halloween Layout

Good morning FotoBella Fans, Penny from the FotoBella design team here today to show you how I made this black and white toddler Halloween layout. This layout features my grandson Matthew during his first trip to the pumpkin patch. I printed these photos in black and white because I didn't want him to get lost in all the orange and brown colors of the Halloween and Fall season.

Got Candy?

So I started my Halloween layout with this sheet of 12 x 12 French Vanilla Polka Dot from the Bo Bunny - 12 x 12 Wonderfully Wicked Collection . The pumpkin sheet came from the All Hallows Eve 12 x 12 Pattern Paper collection. Both of these collections are available at the FotoBella Online Scrapbook Store I also used some plain orange and black cardstock not included in these collections.

So in my next step I needed to pick out what stamps I wanted to use to make my page embellishments with, because let's face it finding just black and white colored embellishments can sometimes be a nightmare to find. I ended up choosing the stamps from this set.

All Hallows Eve Stamp Set

They were a fun stamp set to use, and gave me really good crisp clear images. They also had some really cute Halloween designs that didn't look too spooky for a toddler's layout, so that was a plus. I wanted to make my own images because I wanted to have black and white pumpkins to go along with my black and white photos.

That is the great thing about stamps, you can make your images whatever color you need them to be. That is perfect for when you have a hard color or theme you want to match. I did however end up making some orange pumpkins anyway to use on other projects later while I was in the mood to be stamping things.

Next I took out the matching die set pictured below, and cut out the images for this scrapbook page.

All Hallows Eve Dies

These dies cut out my stamped images perfectly. I also cut out some of the plain orange pumpkins in a heavy glittered cardstock just to see if these dies would work on this type of heavier paper, and they worked beautifully.

I used Ranger's Tim Holtz Black Soot Ink Pad for my stamping ink because I didn't want my images to be too dark for this layout's theme.

Tim Holtz Black Soot Distress Ink

While we are talking ink pads here's a ink pad storage tip for you:

I store my ink pads upside down to keep the ink at the surface of the pad, and I keep a rubber band around them to help keep the lid securely. I also use that same rubber band to hold my cosmetic sponge pad that I use for distressing projects. The band keeps the right color cosmetic sponge with the right color of ink pad. It also keeps it where I can easily find it when I need to use it. It works great, and no more mismatched ink sponges! Let me know if this tip works as well for you, and if you have any secret storage tips you'd like to share with me!

Ink Pad Storage

Okay enough small talk, let's get back to making this Halloween layout. Sometimes I can get carried away with fun storage ideas.

I also used a frame from the All Hallows Eve Ephemera set. This set has lot's of fun embellishments in it. I have made several projects with this kit. If you look closely in the photo after this one you will see the color strip at the top of this packaging is used on my layout. I wanted to separate the two black and white photos with just a tiny pop of color, and this strip worked perfectly.

So here is my layout with some of the stamped images glued in place along with my title, and the tiny color strip.

I loved these stamped bats, and pumpkins. I added googly eyes to my stamped pumpkin faces to give them just a little bit more of a kid/toddler friendly appearance.

On the bottom of my layout I added a flower from the Bo Bunny Harvest Orange Dahlia kit.

I also cut the word "Play" from the "Photo Play Logo" on the packaging. I love doing stuff like this to keep things out of the landfills, and it was the perfect orange to match my layout, and give my layout a little color but not overwhelm it.

To finish off my layout I added Matthew's name, and the year I took these photos. I used some alphabet stickers that I have had forever to do this. I also used some star stickers from the sticker sheet that came from the paper kit pictured below, and some stars I cut out with the die cut kit pictured above.

I hope you had fun today and if you'd love to see more fun Halloween projects, cards, and scrapbook pages please follow our FotoBella Blog. Well till next time "Happy Crafting" . Love Penny

P.S. Here is the matching paper from Photo Play collection.
