Easel Cards - Graphic 45 (Off to the Races)

Hello Crafty Friends,

It's Karen...I'm here to share my second project of the month featuring the glorious Graphic 45 kit "Off to the Races."  I hope you enjoy my two easel cards. I did one super feminine card with a touch of lace and the second one was more masculine by avoiding the floral patterns and roses. So it is good to note that although it may appear that "Off to the Races" is a very feminine kit, it is possible to make some manly projects from this kit as well.

Make your own custom embellishments by folding a simple paper rosette. Begin by scoring a 1x12" strip of paper every 1/4 inch. Alternate valley fold and mountain fold down the entire length. Use a hot glue gun to adhere the ends together forming a loop and then glue the center of the rosette to a small scrap of paper. The finished rosette will be double the width of the strip. By varying the width of the paper strip you can generate numerous size rosettes. TIP: It takes a bit of practice and patience to make a rosette so I always recommend using some scrap paper first before working with your final project papers. Practice scoring a folding because the more accurate you are at these skills, the better the rosette will be.
