MME Hello World Masking Technique

Drea here with a quick and easy masking technique using My Mind's Eye I Want It All Bundle from FotoBella! Here's the layout that I created using some vacation photos.

I struggled with the title, until I looked through my Adventure Journal Cards and found the Let's Go card. I cut off go, punched out the letters and chevrons, and adhered it to red cardstock. Then I used the alpha Travel Stickers to spell EAT, sticking them onto another journal card, and trimming around the edges. I got great use from these cards, using a couple more under the phone booth photo, and for my journaling.

Finally, I used the chevron journal card as a stencil for my masking along the bottom. I used a strip of artist's tape across the middle, covering the top of where the chevrons meet, along with the triangle section on the left, since I didn't want that part of the design to show. Then I used my blending tool and Distress Ink (Faded Jeans) to color in the bottom of the chevrons. You can make your chevrons as long as you'd like, by simply moving your stencil along the left, making sure to match up your pattern each time. I added one extra chevron to mine.

When your done take your tape off and cover the bottom chevrons, using Distress Ink (Broken China) on top.

Here's the final result! So quick and easy!

I love how the two colors meet to create more depth to this page, making it the perfect spot for my double decker bus, which I got from the Travel Mixed Bag! I also got the chipboard compass and London tag from there. On the London tag I crossed out the date and added my own.  From the Chipboard Elements,  I added the camera.  I also used some Decorative Brads, and some pieces from the All Aboard Wood Veneer,  finishing it up by hand-stitching around the circle photo.

Thanks so much for your visit, and I hope you'll try this technique!
