Creating a scrapbook layout from a sketch

On yesterday's blog post, we highlighted how using a sketch or drawing can be a great way to gain inspiration to create a new scrapbook layout. I included a (crude, I know!) hand-drawn sketch of a layout idea I had in my head.

Again - here is the drawing I started with.
Here's the finished layout I made using this sketch as my inspiration. One of the great things about using a sketch is that you can make it your own. I often start with a sketch, gain the creative inspiration I need and then add, subtract or move elements around until it works for me.

The patterned papers and embellishments used in this layout came from The Sweetest Thing - Bluebell and The Sweetest Thing - Honey I Want It All! Bundles by My Minds Eye

These lines were almost too cute to use. I may have been happy to hang them up and look at them, but I powered through!

Do you use sketches to help find your scrapbooking muse?

We'd love for you to share a layout on our FotoBella Facebook page!
