Charmed Halloween Tag

graphic 45, charmed halloween tag, fotobella, handmad tag

Greetings! Chris here, and today I am excited to share this Charmed Halloween Tag I created with my Graphic 45 Charmed 12x12 I Want It All Bundle from FotoBella! This bundle is perfect for this project.

This bundle has everything you need to create this tag and many other projects. Just look at all this goodness! “Charm”ing Paper, Coordinating Patterned papers, Ephemera, Journaling Cards, Chipboard and more!

To create this Charmed Halloween Tag you will need a few extra supplies - a tag base, web embossing folder black jute/twine and a metal charm.

Let’s start by trimming your Patterns and Solids Purple paper to fit your tag. Just place it on top of the sheet, and trim around it with scissors.

Emboss the Purple “tag” with this super fun spider web design. You can place it however you’d like on the tag, but I place the larger web on the upper right of my tag. Let it dry.

Find this journal card from your bundle, trim it around the black edge. Mat it onto the black Patterns and Solid paper. I only left a slight mat edge, but you can make it thicker if you’d like. You can add more details by curling the edges of the printed top piece, so it looks more old and spooky.

You can now adhere your matted journal card to your Charmed Halloween Tag. I placed mine over lapping the edge, on the right side. It’s placed a bit lower that center, but feel free to place it as you prefer.

Add this cute little spider tag and “charmed” ephemera to your tag. Place them as image shows.

Add the final finishing touches to your tag with a metal charm and twine bow. Get creative and make this your own!

Graphic 45 Monthly Series: February Tag Tutorial features Dies, Diecuts

Dies & Diecuts
Tag created with the February Fashion Forward Paper Collection

Dies & Diecuts are once again the stars of today’s tutorial. Hi Crafty Friends! ReNae here with the Fototbella.com Design Team bringing you Part 2 of my February Card & Tag series. Last week we utilized dies & diecuts to create a beautiful card, and today we will complete this set with a beautiful tag! This tag is a perfect compliment to the card we made in my last post! These two lovelies are perfect for a birthday card and gift tag, or any other special occasion where. you just want the recipient to know you love them and you care.

The Paper Collection

For today’s tag tutorial we are once again using the February papers from the Graphic 45 “Fashion Forward” paper collection. The papers are stunning, bright and subtle pinks, with a touch of green, and those gorgeous snow drops! These beautiful flowers bloom in February, reminding us that Spring is not far away!

This Month’s Focus: Dies & Diecuts

I am highlighting the use of Graphic 45’s Dies & Diecuts in both of this month’s tutorials. Two Graphic 45 dies and one diecut are used for this month’s tag. Using dies & diecuts in combination with the design papers can create beautiful results!

Dies & Diecuts

Dies & Diecuts: What You’ll Need

First of all you will need the stars of the show, the Graphic 45 Dies & Diecuts. We will use both the Graphic 45 Regular Tag & Gears die, and the Graphic 45 Square Tag & Clock Dies. Secondly, you will need the Fashion Forward diecut assortment. Note: If you prefer to make your own flowers from the design paper, I recommend the Graphic 45 Large Tag, ATC Tag and Flower Dies which come all together in one pack!

Supplies List for Tag Tutorial

The February Tag Tutorial: Dies & Diecuts

Continuing our focus On Dies & Diecuts, our cute tag is made exactly the same way that the February Card was made with the following exceptions:

  • Instead of black panel, cut a tag diecut using the regular tag die from the Pink paper from Patterns & Solids, then emboss it using embossing folder of your choice.
  • Cut the two strips for flags to measure 1 1/4“ and 1” x 4”.
  • Instead of using frame die, select clock dies and cut from shiny black paper and adhere to tag.
  • Select round sticker of the same girl image from sticker sheet then adhere to center of clock die.
  • Tie coordinating ribbons to tag as shown.

Graphic 45 “Fashion Forward” Card & Tag Series: January Tag Tutorial

Our year-long card and tag tutorial series continues featuring the “Fashion Forward” paper collection by Graphic 45. As you remember, the Card making technique for January was “Glitter & Glitz”.

January Tag

Hello paper crafters! ReNae here, with the FotoBella Design Team. Each month in 2022 I will feature a different technique for cardmaking. I will create one card and one tag with said technique and post detailed step-by-step tutorials for each.

Just like the card we made last week, this beautiful January tag shimmers and shines! Using glitter, glitter glue, your own glitter papers, and this tag tutorial, we are able to take an ordinary black tag and turn it into a sparkling work of art!

The Fashion Forward Paper Collection

This collection is one of the most beautiful collections created by Graphic 45. It’s not a new collection, but the gorgeous vintage images of 1920’s fashion, and the brilliant colors in this collection make it a perfect choice for our card and tag.

Supplies Needed for Tag

Graphic 45 regular Tag (Black), Graphic 45 Fashion Forward “January“ sheet of patterned paper, Double Sided Scor-Tape, Extra Strong Wet Glue, Salty Ocean Distress Oxide Ink, Ink blending sponge or tool, various coordinating colors of glitter paper, Graphic 45 policy envelope die, Graphic 45 tag die, coordinating ribbons of your choice, detailing scissors, and glitter glue.

Let’s Make a Tag!

First, select one black tag from the Graphic 45 Regular Tag Album. Set aside. Using the Graphic 45 tag die, cut out a tag shape from light blue glitter paper. With an ink-blending tool, go around the edges of the blue glitter tag die cut using Salty Ocean Distress Ink. Adhere die cut to front of tag. Next, select the tag-shaped die cut of the lady in the purple overcoat. Adhere to purple glitter paper and cut around the tag, leaving a 1/8 inch border. Then adhere tag on top of dark blue glitter paper, leaving a 1/8 border around tag. Finally, adhere layered tag to the top-center of the tag.

From the January patterned paper, select and cut out three images. The first is the strip of pink flowers. The second is the sentiment strip that reads “New Beginnings”. The third is the sentiment that reads “Out with the Old, In with the New” Cut the first from the January sheet and set aside. Cut a tiny frame from dark blue glitter paper using the Graphic 45 policy and decorative dies. Slip the sentiment inside of the glitter frame. Next, adhere the sentiment to the tag directly under the layered tag with dimensional tape or pop dots.

Now, using a detailing scissors, cut out the strip of flowers. Embellish flowers with glitter glue if desired. Remove a flower from each end of the strip, and adhere to tag at the top as shown. Cut a “corner” die cut from gray glitter paper. Set aside. Cut 7 inches of blue ribbon and 6 inches of purple ribbon. Slip the ribbons through the opening at the top of the tag. Tie a loop through the hole. Adhere the gray die cut over the opening centering it above the layered tag as shown.

Cut a large frame from the dark blue glitter paper using the policy and decorative die set. Cut another frame this time from purple glitter paper, cutting off the scrolls and retaining only the rectangle. Adhere the “Out with the Old...” sentiment to the large frame. Turn over the tag and adhere frame to tag. And that’s it! You have completed your card and tag tutorial for January! See you soon!

Chipboard Tags feat. Graphic 45 Life's A Journey

It's Jeanne, and this week I'm back with these large chipboard tags I created using Graphic 45's Life's A Journey Collection. I love creating tags to give just as a gift or make it into a card.

Graphic 45 Life's A Journey

I created this set of 2 large chipboard tags using these beautiful papers. As mentioned in my previous post, I gradually got comfortable creating with this paper collection so when choosing the papers for this project, I didn't want it too colorful so papers from both 12x12 sets were used on these tags.

I began but cutting two pieces of chipboard at 4x8, I then used Vintage Photo distress ink as well as Black Soot distress ink around the edges of the tag. I selected papers from the I Want It All Bundle for these tags. Although this collection is very colorful , I wanted to create these with the more neutral colors .

Once I was done adhering the papers on my tags, I finalized it using some laces andfew flowers and one one tag I did add pearls in and around my flowers.

I love to layer on what ever projects I create. I feel like it adds an additional interest and dimension to my projects. Don't worry about covering up items such as lace because you can always leave areas where they peek thru. It always fun to break down and see all of the detail of everyone's project so therefore that gave me the idea of creating projects like that.

I do hope that you enjoyed this short post that I created today. I hope that you are inspired to create your own tags even cards using some layering methods and perhaps sneaking in some surprise elements into your projects. It makes them that much more interesting just like your own personality!! See you all next week with another project!! ~Hugs~ Jeanne
