Winter PocketLetter with Marci

Hello! It's Marci here today with a Winter/Snow Mixed Media Pocketletter.  I was happy to be chosen as January's Guest Designer for (click & go)-> FotoBella.  I will , naturally, be swapping this with a fellow swapper; this happens to be my 36th Pocketletter, so you can see I am hooked!

I used a sheet from the BoBunny Winter Play Collection  as the background card in each pocket.  I used many other pieces from the same collection throughout this Pocketletter; for example, even border punching a strip for the side bar and then using Blue Rhinestones on top.  I coated many of the snowflakes on the paper with Stickles to make the sparkle.

I also used the ephemera pack from BoBunny called Whiteout Noteworthy throughout, for example I attached 2 "tickets" Family & Fun and then attached the stamped Julie Nutting snowman to those tickets. On the outside of the Pocketletter I fussy cut WINTER WONDERLAND, popped it with Foam Tape.  Then I attached G45 French Blue Rose Collection, tipping the leaves with texture paste to emulate snow.

I also include a shaker aspect in my Pocketletters.  In that pocket I have added Mica flakesMicro Beads and Glass Beads. I made the shaker using 1/2 of one pocket using The We R Memory Keepers Fuse tool.   On 4 of the pockets you will notice a sporadic "spritz" using Tim Holtz Distress Spray.

Thanks for stopping by!

I put together a cute little project with Bo Bunny's Felicity collection from FotoBella.com in celebration of this fabulous day!  I found this awesome Lori Whitlock cut design in the Silhouette Store.

This is a 3D project that can be used to tuck in a gift card or little treat.  It's super simple to put together and tons of fun!

Hope you have a fabulous day and enjoy a cup o' joe!

Are We There Yet Carta Bella Mini Album

Are we there yet?  I mean who hasn't heard that question from your kids when traveling?  It's the perfect title for a vacation collection and Carta Bella's got it with their "Are We There Yet?" collection.  Apryl here with the FotoBella Design Team sharing my latest design project featuring this great collection found at FotoBella.com.

Anyone made a paper bag album lately?  Now that school's out, I've got these paper lunch bags taking up space in the pantry so I'm putting them to good use along with my scrapbook supplies.  Paper bags albums make great quick little albums and are perfect to give to your kids to document vacation adventures.

Supplies Needed:

  • 12-6"x6" pieces of paper Cities to See, State Map, Beach Route, Region Strips (front cover), Parks Pass and Get on the Road
  • Are We There Yet Chipboard stickers
  • Are We There Yet 12"x12" Sticker sheet from collection pack
  • Are We There Yet Layered Stickers
  • three paper lunch bags 6 1/8"x4"x12 3/8" (Up Target brand)
  • We R Memory Keepers Anywhere Stapler
  • Baker's twine-navy/white

To assemble this album.  stack the three lunch bags, fold them in the middle and bind using staples down the middle crease. If you have a sewing machine, stitching the bags together down the crease is a great option as well!

Cut the 12 6"x6" pages out of the patterned paper and glue to the paper bag pages.  You'll see that the openings at the end of the paper bags make great pockets.  The pockets can be used to stash memorabilia, or pocket pages would be fun also. To make pocket pages, cut them slightly smaller that 6"x6" so that they slide in and out easily.

As you can see, I matched up some of the papers to create a fluid two page spread look, others I mixed and matched.  The embellishments are the journal cards, chipboard stickers and layered stickers found in the Are We There Yet? Carta Bella collection.

Our big summer vacation coming up will be to Yellowstone and the Grand Tetons, so I was excited these destinations were included in this collection!

I had so much fun making this album, before I finished the first one, I decided to make two.  I actually made them at the same time, and it was super quick.  My plan is to give each of my kids one to fill with pictures and documentation while we are on the road in the RV.

Get this collection to document your summer vacation and you won't regret it.
Have a happy summer!

Celebrate National Red Nose Day with FotoBella and Simple Stories

Welcome to the FotoBella blog today featuring a layout made with Simple Stories Dance collection to celebrate and honor today, Red Nose Day.  You can find this collection along with many other fabulous products at FotoBella.com.

I have the cutest photo of my daughter sporting a red clown nose.  This was left over from her Circus celebration when she turned one year old and I found it fitting for helping celebrate Red Nose Day.  I found the perfect saying at the Silhouette Online store and cut it out of black card stock using my Cameo.

I used various paper from the Dance collection to back a couple of the words to make them stand out, such as the dark pink card stock behind the word "MAGIC".

I fussy cut the colorful circles out of one of collections patterned paper and embellished them with the word stickers, hearts and stars.

Now to shine some more light on what Red Nose Day is, for those of you who may not have heard of it.  Red Nose Day is a way to raise awareness and money to end child poverty around the world.  Donations go towards things like education, vaccines, meals, and many more things that children need to thrive.  The non-profit Comic Relief, which uses comedy to raise money for disadvantaged people, launched Red Nose Day in 1988 in the United Kingdom and since then have raised more than $1 billion worldwide.  You can easily contribute to the fundraising efforts by visiting your local Walgreens and purchasing a red clown nose for $1.  For more information and ways you can contribute, visit rednoseday.org and join the movement!

I hope that my post today not only inspires you to create a fabulous layout with the Simple Stories Dance Collection but to also help those in need by getting your own red nose, to wear it and share it proudly today!

Have a fabulous day!

Fourth of July Pinwheels

Happy Fourth of July FotoBella Fans!  It's Apryl with you today to share a quick and fun patriotic project using We R Memory Keepers Pinwheel Punch Board. It's a great way to come up with some fun decor in a snap.  The punch board is really easy to use.  Cut your paper in a square anywhere from 3" to 12", punch the corners with the punch in the top right hand corner of the board.  Then you line up your paper according to the size guides so that you can cut the slits that allow you to fold over the pinwheel pieces.  The secure the pinwheel, use a brad in the center.

The pinwheels can be attached to a stick and spinner also made by We R Memory Keepers

I attached my to an adhesive foam board so that I can use it as a back drop.

The paper I used is from my scrap stash.  Some of the brand paper is Doodlebug, Simple Stories and My Mind's Eye Necessities paper pack.  Be sure to visit Fotobella.com for some shopping this weekend so you don't miss out on the 4th of July 20% off sale!

Have a safe and fun holiday!

Oh Happy Day Basic Grey Sun Kissed layout

Apryl with the FotoBella design team to share a fun summer layout with Basic Grey's Sun Kissed Collection.  Ok, so who is now dreaming, hoping, wishing for warmer days?  Holy cow, it's only been winter for a few weeks here is So. Cal and I've been freezing!  Yes, I'll admit I was done with the heat, but this freezing business is not what I had in mind!

So this pineapple was the starting point for this whole layout. It just shouts "Summer!"

There are some beautiful patterns in this paper, reminds me of a kaleidoscope.  I chose many of them and cut them in squares & rectangles to make a mosaic background for the photos.

Did some embellishing with the cork stickers, die cuts and stickers to add the finishing touches to the layout.  I had just as much fun making this layout as the kids did carving their names into our picnic table that Daddy built.

Thanks for stopping by and have a fabulous day!

Bo Bunny "Enchanted Autumn" Altered Cutting Board

Autumn brings all sorts of images to my mind, a big Kansas field full of sunflowers,  bright orange and yellow leaves gently fluttering toward the ground in the breeze, creating big piles of leaves just perfect for kids to jump in.
It's ReNae here with your FotoBella Design Team!

The smells of Autumn are so wonderful...a mug of apple cider simmering with a cinnamon stick, pumpkin pie and apple crisp baking, the brown sugar and cinnamon bubbling... and hiking with acorns crackling underfoot, beautiful fall foliage and crisp autumn air, so cool it makes your nose and fingers tingle...
These wonderful images are perfectly captured in the Autumnal paper collection called "Enchanted Harvest" by Bo Bunny.  So when I decided to participate in a cutting board swap last week, I knew exactly which paper collection I would use!
I started with a cutting board I found at a thrift shop.  Tcompliment the paper collection, I stained the bare wood with a combination of Rusty Hinge and Vintage Photo distress stains.
Using the Enchanted Harvest Chipboard, and the Ephemera Pack, I decorated the cutting board and I just love how it turned out!
I can't wait to make more beautiful projects with this
What projects would YOU make?
Let me know and one lucky commenter will win a FotoBella gift certificate!
We can't wait to hear your ideas!
Happy Autumn,

We're having a BANNER DAY with Bo Bunny's Garden Journal

Hi everyone!  ReNae here!
Summer is here and it's time for garden parties, picnics, and outdoor Bar-B-Q's!
What better way to liven up your venue than with a beautiful banner made with
Bo Bunny's "Garden Journal I want it All Bundle" by FotoBella?

This Banner came to be as a result of a contest I held with the members of my awesome swap group Chic Craftique!

Just look at all the wonderful products you can get
In the Garden Journal "I want it All! Bundle" by FotoBella
Additional products from Bo Bunny
I asked the members,
"What would YOU create if you could use all these awesome products?"

I received a lot of really great ideas and the winning idea was by Julie Monroe, who suggested making a summertime BANNER!  This banner was made using the Garden Journal "I want it All!" Bundle plus a few other supplies from Bo Bunny and FotoBella

Note: To purchase any or all of these supplies just click on the highlighted word and it will link you to the website!

Now, on to the BANNER!
The first flag I made was the centerpiece.  I used a bird image from the paper collection, fussy-cut it out, and painted it with Bo Bunny's Glitter Paste.
It just shimmers!

The left photo shows the FLORET I made using my own scoring board and bone folder.  (Please refer to the tutorial on the FotoBella Blog from May 26th) The right photo shows a bit better the sparkle and shine of the Bo Bunny Glitter Paste.  I also used it on the Laser-cut Butterflies!  SO Pretty!
On each side of the center pennant I hung a flag.  Chipboard sentiments from the Bundle and more florets embellish the flags.  I embellished the butterflies with bling from the Bundle.
Above you can see how very shiny and glitzy the glitter makes the butterflies! Two doilies hang at the bottom of the flags.

Another pennant and flag embellished with florets, doilies, chipboard sentiments and butterflies.

I decorated the outer pennants with chipboard swirls, which I cut in half, then adhered to each. Doilies and florets complete the look. Each pennant featured a bird, and each flag a butterfly.
Close-up
This is a close-up of one of the 2 end flags.  They were slightly more narrow than the flags in the center.
Here you can see the other pennant, where I used the other chipboard swirl, again cutting it in half and adhering. Instead of a large floret I made a fan and a small floret and placed a glitter-painted bird on top.

Here are two close-ups of the pennant.  Love that Glitter Paste!

Another flag, and you can see that I used the same format for all.

This Banner is so pretty and will be perfect for any outdoor venue!  Try making one yourself!  It's fun!

Until next time, Happy Creating!
