Hi crafty friends. It’s Kristine and today I have a fun kitchen project for you! Decorated with luscious lemon images, the Simple Stories Lemon Twist collection is perfect for decorating some recipe cards. Whether you have lined notecards or use a die to cut some like me, these cute cards are easy to decorate!
Supplies Used
In order to decorate my cards, I used several of the embellishments in the Simple Stories Lemon Twist collection. This includes the Washi tape, chipboard stickers, layered stickers, and the sticker book.
For the base of the recipe cards, I used teal cardstock to match the stickers in the collection. This collection of aqua toned papers from My Minds Eye would be a perfect match! Then, I used plain white paper for the front of the cards to write the recipes.
Decorating Your Simple Stories Recipe Cards
First, prepare the card bases. In my case, I will use my metal die and cut 6 teal-colored cards.
Then, I cut my white paper 1/4” smaller than the 4x6 card size so there is a small teal border around the front of the recipe cards.
After the bases are prepared, add a strip of yellow Washi tape to the bottom of the recipe card front. There is a very small teal strip at the bottom of the card. Then, add the teal and Simple Stories Lemon Washi tape over top the yellow Washi tape.
To complete the front, select one of the layered stickers for the top of the recipe cards. Place the sticker on the corner of the card, just before the tab.
For the back, each card will be decorated differently. Some of the recipe cards will have Washi tape on them, and all cards will have the chipboard stickers on them. Also, I will use some of the stickers from the Simple Stories sticker book to layer behind the chipboard.
Now that your cards are finished, it is time to add a recipe to the front of each card. They can be added to a recipe box, stuck into a book, or even bound together on a ring like mine!
