Christmas Treasures Handmade Card Ideas

Hi everyone....Laurie here sharing my handmade card ideas with another project using the fabulous Christmas Treasures collection from BoBunny.

The collection includes a fun stamp set with a cute little stocking that was crying to be hung......

Christmas Treasures Handmade Card Ideas
The Stockings Were Hung

I stamped the image twice with Black Soot Distress Ink and colored it with Faber-Castell pencils. I added one of the banners from the Noteworthy collection and used the small candy dots in the corners. I added the stamped mat over the ribbon with pop dots to add some dimension. This collection is great for quick easy Christmas cards that have a nostalgic theme.

This is a standard 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" card. I matted the plaid paper for the first layer and wrapped the ribbon across the middle of the matted piece. I stamped the stockings onto a piece of white cut at 3 3/8" x 4" and then matted it onto a piece of red cardstock. I like to cut my cardstock 3/16" smaller than the piece it is being layered onto. Most people either cut 1/8" or 1/4" smaller but I like the look that falls between the two.

I hope my card inspires you with handmade card ideas of your own to create a fun easy Christmas card today. It is snowing here in Michigan so it is easy to get in the mood!

The products I used for this card are:

I will be making some more fun projects throughout the season using this great collection. You can follow along here and on my blog at laurieslazydaydesigns.blogspot.com

Gift Box Card - Design Team

Several years ago, I learned how to make a cute card that is also a little box filled with tags. I altered the measurements so it would measure 5" x 7" when finished. I thought it would offer a few more opportunities to get creative with some tags. But this time, I chose to stick with the great little tags that are included on the Cardstock Sticker sheet that comes in the Christmas Treasures collection....but who knows about future projects.

This is the card when it is closed:

Gift Box Card

I just adore the plaids in this collection! I added two of the pieces from the layered chipboard stickers to spread some "peace and joy." Then I "doctored" up one of the poinsettias and holly leaves from the Noteworthy pack. I snipped between the petals of the flower and the holly leaves and then rolled a stylus on the back side. Then I flipped them over and pressed gently in the center to lift the leaves and petals. It completely changes the look of the pieces.....

I matted the inside of the "box" and added another great sentiment from the Noteworthy pack in the center. I matted the sticker tags onto red cardstock and then again onto white so it would be easier to add the "to and from" to the back. Or these little tags could also be added to a package purely for decoration. I tied a piece of baker's twine through the hole I punched with my crop-a-dile.

This is definitely the type of card you would want to send at the beginning of December so the tags could be used on packages. A card like this always inspired me to drag out my dies to see what I can come up with for tags. But I couldn't resist using these cute little stickers instead. They are just too sweet!

I used the BoBunny Christmas Treasures collection for this fun project and you can find it here.

Stay tuned for some more great tag ideas......

Halloween door decor and cute scrapbook page

Hi all, can you believe that Halloween is almost here? If you are like me,I don’t have my Halloween box of decorations down yet because i have been busy . But ,what’s the crafty girl to do? Make your own Halloween decor of course! So, today I’m stopping by to share a large paper wreath I made using the simple stories say cheese Halloween collection. First I took four 12 x 12 coordinating pattern papers and cut them all in half so that each pattern paper you have to strips paper for each. I then accordion fold every piece .I then connected them all together to make one long strip. Next, I took the two ends and glue them together which will form your circular base. Set that aside now and grab a piece of cardboard or cereal box . Cut a 12 inch circle. Now at the 12 inch circle of cardboard will be your base for holding your strip of accordion circle paper. Shape your accordion strip to a circle put down glue on your base and lay it on top . Now cut a 4 inch circle of a coordinating patterned paper to cover the middle hole and glue down . Then ,embellish the center with stickers or chipboard stickers from the collection . Last I punched two holes on the top and put a ribbon through so to hang the paper wreath.

Now, you know i Just had to make a scrapbook page too -For this page i used the polka dot pattern paper for the background and then layered the purple wrmk cardstock paper on top and doodled around the edges with a black marker. I used its of pattern papers from the collection to mat my photo of my middle daughter and then embellished with cutaparts, stickers, diecuts and chipboard stickers to frame the photo some more.

Design Team Project - Christmas Treasures

Fotobella Design Team - Christmas Treasures

Hi everyone, I'm Laurie and am so excited to be part of the 2019-2020 Fotobella Design Team. Before I share my first project with you, let me tell you a little about myself. I have been crafting for over 30 years and have done so many types of crafts. I started out making wood and cloth items which I sold at craft shows and to some local stores. I loved it! I was lucky enough to be able to be a stay-at-home mom while my son was growing up and I had a husband who was a great supporter! He would cut my wood on the weekends so I could spend the week painting and staining. But, after years of being self-employed, I decided to get a real job and I went back to school. All it really got me was deeper in debt and tired...lol! Now, I am retired, widowed, and a craft addict! I live with my mom and we craft our hearts out together! When I take a day off it is usually to spend some time with my son and daughter-in-law and my two precious 1-year old twin grandsons. They are truly the lights of my life! Well, enough about me....let's get crafting!

I was super excited when I opened my design team package and found the Christmas Treasures collection by BoBunny inside! It had been sitting in my online cart waiting for me to push that "purchase" button so I was already contemplating the fun I could have with it before it even arrived. This collection is a wonderful vintage nostalgic blend of rich colors and beautiful graphics. As soon as I saw this page, I knew exactly what I wanted to do with it:

Christmas Treasures Reindeer

Living in the Midwest, I have seen many deer heads mounted on walls. And these were just too cute not to hang on my wall! So, I cut the squares apart but they were a bit large for my décor piece. So, I fussy cut each one along the edges of the picture frame portion of the 3x4 cut-apart. They came out perfect! Then I used Walnut Stain Distress Ink to "dirty" up the edges for a vintage effect:

I cut out each of the reindeer and the piece with the Sleigh Rides sign. I used the backside of the Christmas Treasures Dear Santa page for my background because it has a terrific reindeer border. After all the pieces were ready, I attached them with pop dots to give them some dimension. Then I added some of the large candy dots in between to add a little embellishment. I didn't want to go too crazy with that because I really wanted the reindeer to be the "stars of the show." When it was all finished, I put it in a 12x12 black shadowbox frame. I just love the way it turned out!

I hope you enjoy my first project with this amazing collection. I can't wait to share more with you during the next few weeks! You can purchase all of the products I used here. Grab yours today and craft along with me!
