Today is National Swap Ideas Day!
What a great way to bring people together and learn new things! We would love to encourage each and every one of you to get involved and swap some ideas of your own!
Did you know that we are having a FotoBella Warehouse Sale with Make & Take Workshops?
At the workshop we will have a Swap Table. This is a great opportunity for you to bring some of the craft items that you just don't use anymore, and Swap them for other items you can get some use out of! Also, anything left over on the Swap Table at the end of the event will be donated to local schools.
Please check out our Facebook Event Page for all of the details.
Here are some great ideas from our FotoBella Design Team to get you started:
Drea's Idea: Gesso & Embossing
I use a dotted stencil to apply gesso.
Once it's dry, spray with any color mists you would like.
Let it dry again, then apply gold embossing powder to the gesso dots and set with a heat gun.

Jeri's Idea: Rip & Distress Paper
I love this quick and easy way of creating distressed embellishments for my paper creations. You can create any shape, using your finger and some water. With water on the fingertip, trace the shape you want on paper. Let it soak in and weaken the paper. Carefully tear the paper. Wet the entire shape with water, crumple, gently un-crumple and set aside to dry.
When paper is dry and stiff, use an old, worn ink pad to rub around the edges and the crinkles. You can add more ink colors and get creative!
Apryl's Idea: Update Holiday Decor with FotoBella Bundles
It's easy to update the holiday decor you currently have, for any season! With the Mixed Bag from My Minds Eye Something Wicked, and my tag punch, I made tags with various printed papers and layered them with embellishments.
I accessorized this candle with the Black Tie Bones Elixir sticker from the Something Wicked Sticker Labels. I matted the sticker with dark red card stock and fussy cut it out.
Another great idea?! The skeleton I had in my stash, needed a fresh face! I just love the Top Hat and, who doesn't like a good mustache?
Most of us are familiar with those big fragrant candles we burn during the holidays. They come in all kinds of wonderful scents from Christmas Cookie to Pine Bough! If you’re like me, you probably purchase several of these candles from Halloween time through New Year’s. When the candle is gone, instead of throwing away the jar and lid, repurpose it!! These jars are just perfect storage jars for your loose ribbon, buttons and other ephemera!
I separate the ribbon by color, and can easily find what I’m looking for when making a project! The ribbon stays clean, dry and ready to use!
Sometimes a plain white doily doesn't look good you need it to pop more. Use mists in all sorts of colors to alter the look. It adds an additional element and pop to your page. Post to come on this layout using the misted doilies.
While you enjoy swapping ideas today, please remember to use the hashtag #NationalSwapIdeasDay
