Valentine Cards Box Set with Simple Stories Vintage My Valentine

Valentine Box with Cards

Hi crafty friends. Who doesn’t love receiving handmade Valentine cards? These little cards bring smiles to the faces of kids and adults every year. How would you like a chance to win a set of 8 Valentine cards made from the adorable Vintage My Valentine collection by Simple Stories? This collection is versatile and I from my bundle, I am able to make two different style of cards. Keep reading for details on how to design cards with the collection and you can win these cards.

While designing these cute Valentine cards, I tried to use my patterned paper sparingly. The Vintage My Valentine bundle comes with two sheets each of pink, red, and aqua polka dot papers and an assortment of stickers and embellishments. So when I look at the collection, I see two slightly different ways to design fun and festive cards. First, there are the traditional red and white stickers and chipboard pieces that are classic for Valentine cards. However, there are also a lot of stickers with the baby pink and aqua colors that allow for a shabby chic theme. I am going to show you how to make both types of cards from this one collection.

Choosing Embellishments

First, I will select embellishments for the front of each card. This will include some chipboard stickers from the Simple Stories Romance collection and stickers from the mini sticker book. Next, I will arrange small pieces of the pink and aqua paper to make the background for the Valentine cards. I used an embossing folder to give the paper a bit of dimension. My new Graphic 45 die set will make the perfect frame for my chipboard. Washi tape from the collection adds just a touch of red to the one card. Finally, I added Liquid Pearls in a soft pink to finish the cards. As an alternative, this white opal color Liquid Pearls would add a slightly more whimsical look to the cards. Each of the Valentine cards is blank inside to add a personal note or stamp your own sentiment.

On my second set of Valentine cards, I will be using the red and white stickers and chipboard stickers in the collection. I will add the paper stickers onto paper and then layer them on chipboard for more dimension. For these cards, I am using the red/white polka dot and pink papers along with some scraps from my stash. Some of the background papers are embossed to give it texture. On some cards, I want to add some gold foiling as an accent since I am using Rose Gold Stickles instead of the Liquid Pearls. These Bo Bunny Gold Foil Transfers are perfect for cards and surprisingly easy to use! I used the floral Washi tape and the white heart Washi tape on these cards. The white Washi tape is the perfect match to the cute stickers on the Valentine cards.

Full Size Valentine Cards

To complete my card set, I made one full size card in each color scheme. For the shabby chic theme, I am using several dies from my stash along with the frame die from my Graphic 45 die set. I am adding chipboard accents from the Romance collection as the focal point of my card. Liquid Pearls accent the pink die cut frames. Finally, I am using one of the Bo Bunny Gold Foil Transfers on the envelope to match the gold metallic frame on the card front.

For my second full size Valentine card, I am trying a slimline card. The front of this card is decorated with two of the large chipboard stickers from the Vintage My Valentine bundle and die cuts I made with my Graphic 45 die sets and gold metallic cardstock. I am leaving the middle layer open to write a sentiment to the recipient and added a few die cut accents. Finally, the back panel is stamped with a Prima stamp sentiment and heat embossed with gold metallic powder. I added the Bo Bunny Gold Foil Transfers along the outer border and am using one of the longer chipboard stickers from the collection along the edge of the card as a tab.

The Valentine Box

Every card collection deserves a pretty box! I am using a leftover cardboard Christmas box to create a box for my Valentine cards. First, I painted it with red distress paint. This pink colored distress paint would also work well. Then, I added my decorative papers to the inside and outside of the box. Next, I am adding the Bo Bunny Gold Foil Transfers around all four sides of my box base. It is time to make my embellishments. I am using these wooden embellishments from Stamperia that are painted in bronze or pink paint, along with some stickers from the mini sticker book. I will also add a large flower and a strand of pearls from my stash. The 8 small Valentine cards fit well inside the box.

These cards are easy to make and perfect for the beginner card maker! The Simple Stories Vintage My Valentine collection is easy to work with and has so many options for embellishing and decorating cards. I hope you will go over to the FotoBella online store today and order the collection to make some of your own! Valentine’s Day Double Layout with Simple Stories Vintage My Valentine

Hi crafty friends. Valentine’s Day is my favorite holiday and I am having so much fun designing my projects this month. The Simple Stories Vintage My Valentine bundle is a sweet collection of papers, stickers, chipboard stickers, and Washi tape. It is the perfect starter kit for just about any Valentine’s Day project. Along with the traditional reds and pinks, there is a soft aqua color that makes these papers unique and fun. To add some dimension, I am using a few of these carved wooden shapes by Stamperia.

Since the bundle only comes with 6 papers, I challenged myself to use the patterned paper sparingly. So, I am using mostly the stickers and chipboard to create my Valentine’s Day layout. The focal point of my layout will be the beautiful chipboard frames that come in the bundle. First, I am selecting one large and one small frame for each page. Then, I turned the heart frame into a shaker using Crystal Hearts and Sweethearts Sparkletz. The large border stickers in the collection have a lot detail and I like the touch of blue in them. So, I will choose one for each page.

Creating the Valentine’s Day Layout

To start my layout, I am using two pieces of white 12x12 cardstock. I will be making my own background paper using this cute stamp set from Prima Marketing. I stamped my images with pigment ink and then heat embossed them to add texture to my pages. If you don’t have these products, you can simply stamp the images onto the paper to achieve the same look.

Washi Tape Border Adds More Aqua to the Page

Once the images are stamped, I will add a strip of the aqua heart Washi tape to the bottom of the pages for a border. This border strip will begin to add subtle splashes of aqua to the Valentine’s Day layout. Then, I painted two wooden flourishes with Stamperia baby pink spray and added one to each of the bottom corners. Next, I will decide where to place my chipboard frames and the border sticker strip on the pages. Then, I am going to use small strips of the patterned paper around the frames. I used a scalloped border punch on the edges of some of the papers to add another layer of texture. I want the papers to add just a tiny pop of color to the layout.

Finishing Touches

In order to complete the pages, I decided to add a few finishing touches to my Valentine’s Day layout. First, I will use a few stickers from the sticker sheet that is included in the bundle. I am also adding cute text stickers from the mini sticker book to the frames. Next, I am using a red distress ink around the edges of the page. Then, I will create faux stitching around the edges of the paper. I really liked the way the faux stitches looked so I added more stitches around each element on the page. The only thing left to do is add my favorite Valentine’s Day photos to the frames!

I hope you enjoyed seeing how this simple layout was made using Simple Stories Vintage My Valentine bundle. Head over to the FotoBella online store today and pick up a bundle to start a beautiful Valentine’s Day project of your own!
