Hi crafty friends. It’s Kristine and I’m back again with a set of home decor pieces that I created with the Prima Magic Love paper collection. This collection is truly a versatile collection that can be used on so many paper crafting projects. As I was cleaning up my workspace from my last project (the mini notebook), I decided I needed to create organizers for my supplies. Thus, my next design team project was born!
Home Decor Piece #1
For my first project, I am recycling a tea canister and turning it into a paintbrush holder. This project is fairly simple and the finished piece can be used in many ways. To create the holder, use any type of leftover or recycled jar. Mine is a tin canister. I cut a piece of the 12 x 12 Prima Magic Love paper to fit the canister and used double sided tape to attach it to the canister. Some Nuvo mousse in silver and pink along the rim give it some added flair. I will use select pieces from the 6 x 6 paper pad to embellish the papers and add a piece of heart trim around the top. Then, a pink bow from my stash, a pixie flower from the collection, and a few Sparkletz gems finish off this home decor piece.
Piece #2 - The Desktop Organizer
To create my second project, I used my Glowforge to cut an organizer caddy. Before assembling the pieces, I will trace around them on the 12 x 12 papers for a perfect fit. I selected papers to match my first home decor piece so they will be a coordinated set. Before adhering the papers, I will paint the pieces white since there will be a small border around the edges.
Because this is going to be a functional caddy for my desktop supplies, I am going to leave the embellishments as flat as possible. I cut several postage stamp images from the 12 x 12 paper and used a cut apart from the 6 x 6 papers. A piece of the heart trim adds a sweet touch to the top of the home decor caddy. To give it a bit of sparkle, I added a few Sparkletz to the front along with one of the gorgeous Prima flowers from the collection.
Piece #3 - Trinket Tray
For my final home decor piece, I am making a trinket tray to display in my craft room. I bought a little wooden tray from the craft store and made the dividers using cardstock. To match my desktop caddy, I painted the trinket tray white. I also used the Nuvo mousse in pink to add some color to the edges. The 6 x 6 papers are the perfect size for this project. The designs are sized perfectly and the cut apart pieces work well as embellishments.
Of course, I wanted to use the wooden postage stamp stickers and think they add a fun element to the project. The chipboard stickers also add some dimension and have the sweetest images on them. I used several throughout the compartments of my home decor piece. The heart trim adds another sweet touch in the center. Of course, no home decor project is complete without those gorgeous Prima flowers so I used three on this project. Finally, I used some pearls throughout the compartments to give it a subtle touch of color throughout.
As you can see, the Prima Magic Love paper collection is quite versatile and the possibilities are endless. I hope seeing these three different home decor pieces has given you some inspiration and ideas on projects you can create for your own home. Not only are they beautiful, but they’re functional, too!
