The Avenues Hair Flower Tutorial

Supplies:
Petals
Jewels
Bobby Pin
Water

Tools:
Hot Glue Gun

From your bundle, grab the Petals. I used this teal print. Pull out 1 of each of the 4 sizes.
Grab the Jewels and a Bobby Pin

Place each Petal in your hand. Run your fingers under the water, and flick some water on each petal. Don’t get too much or the paper will be too wet and might fall apart.
Carefully start to fold and crumble eat petal. Let them sit for a few minutes to start to dry and harden. During this time you can plug in your glue gun.

Put a dot of hot glue in the center of the largest petal and place the next size down on top of it. Continue this until all petals are secured.
Put a small strip of hot glue on the back of the Flower and hold a Bobby Pin in place until cooled.

And now you have a cute, custom Hair Flower!
But of course, you can use it anywhere you want, since it is attached to a Bobby Pin it is easy to clip. Get creative! Use it as a broche or even a paperclip!

Because You Are Wonderful Card

I hope that everyone has someone in their life who is so inspirational, and so wonderful, that even when you feel down they are the light that brightens your path.

I am so grateful and so lucky to have this person in my life.

Spoke to her on the phone the other day, and felt I needed to make a card just for her. She loves birds, bird cages and whismy colors. So this The Avenues I Want It All Bundle by BoBunny couldn't have been more perfect.

Christmas Card Album

Several years ago I made a mini album to hold my Christmas cards.  I use the album every year and I love it but somehow it never holds all the Christmas cards I receive.  That gave me the idea to make a second one with the beautiful My Mind's Eye Vintage Christmas collection.  I've been working with this collection all month for Fotobella and honestly I was just looking for another excuse to use it again!

The first thing I did was go through all the paper and decide what would be the cover and the backgrounds for the inside pages.  I kept it simple and cut the 12"x12" paper into 6"x12" pages for the album.

The Cover

All of pages of pockets to tuck cards into and some of the pages have more than one pocket so that the cards can be layered on the pages and kept from falling out.

On this page, the Holly Paper and the brown Peace paper or both pockets.

When placing the embellishments, I was careful not allow them to block access to the pocket by either removing the sticky part of the sticker or only placing adhesive on part of it.

For some of the embellishments I hand cut shapes such as the holly leaves and ornaments seen on this page.

Here is a close up of a Christmas card tucked into the side pocket of this page.

And on this page, the side green brackets are also pockets.

I bound the album using my Zutter, Bind It All.  Tied some raffia and dangly embellishments on to the spiral rings and now its ready for it's first round of Christmas Greeting and Wishes!

The papers and embellishments are really awesome in this collection and practically does the work for you when putting a project together.  Hope this has inspired you to make your own album.

Hope you have a fabulous day!

Supplies Used:  My Mind's Eye Vintage Christmas Collection, Zutter Bind It All, Raffia, Brown Ink, Kiwi Lane templates, Baker's Twine.

All I Want For Christmas

My latest inspiration to come from the My Mind's Eye Vintage Christmas Collection is a Christmas list.  Every year, my kids leave Santa their list of requests.  This is usually composed on a piece of torn out notebook paper and a crayon, at the last minute on Christmas Eve.  I attempt to save these with plans to scrapbook them....not sure that has actually happened yet!  Maybe I'll have better luck with this one!

The notebook patterned paper was the base of this project, naturally.  The embellishments are the chipboard pennants and button with twine.  I used the clear stamps at the bottom of the page and added a few rhinestones.

I tested it out on a 12x12 piece of patterned paper from the collection and it's going to look great next to the photo of each of my kids.  Now I can't wait to use it!  Stop by Fotobella.com to get the bundle of goodies from this collection and you can make your own!

Have a fabulous day!
