Hello Crafty Friends! Jeanne here to share with you these cute , very feminine shabby chic boxes that I created this month. I was sent this collection from Stamperia called Sleeping Beauty which included these beautiful rice papers.
Starting with some paper mache boxes, which you can purchase at Michaels or Amazon. These are sold in a pack of 3 but I have no clue where I lost the small one but either way I went ahead and created these two boxes which I absolutely love.
How I began
I began by going over the lid and the bottom half of the paper Mache boxes with heavy white gesso from Prima Marketing Finnabair brand. I did this because I had originally painted them with pink acrylic paint but then never used them. Once they were dry, I went over these areas with Prima Marketing Finnabair Impasto paint in Snow White.
Adding the Stamperia Rice Papers
The next step that I did was cut out the circle & Rose images from the Stamperia Sleeping Beauty Rounds Pack and I also used the Stamperia Sleeping Beauty Gold Wallpaper . To decoupage the rice papers onto the boxes, I used Deco Art Napkin Decoupage Glue with a small paint brush and a little water just to thin out the glue just a little.
Adding the finishing touch
I then adhered some laces/ruffle polka dot trim with some adhesive. Next, I adhered a crown and bow bling piece using E6000 glue which is a very strong adhesive. Finally I added some Teeny Tiny Silver Rhinestones on the lid images. I did leave the inside of these boxes unfinished for now.
Well crafty friends, I do hope that I have inspired you even just a little! Till next time!
