I knew instantly that I wanted to create a junk journal. I haven’t made very many journals before so I thought I would do a small series of the process for beginners since I’m pretty much a beginner as well.
Let’s Get Started with Blue Fern Studios
First, I started by gathering up some of the Blue Fern Studio supplies I thought would be great for this journal. Once I chose what I would be using and little extra just in case, I decided to coffee dye and tea dye some of the papers I gathered up.
Once I was done with the process of coffee/tea dyeing, I was excited to use the clear stamps from the collection. So, that was my next step in the process of creating this junk journal.
Get to Stamping
These below, are the clear stamps that come with this Blue Fern Studio Bundle from Fotobella. The first one is “London Souvenir” & the second one is “Registered Letter”.
I stamped some of the ephemera, and also stamped on the dyed papers, music sheets, tags, folders. Also, I love the idea of stamping on some small tea bags that I had in my stash. A favorite product I like to use when creating anything with a vintage theme is the Tim Holtz Kraft Glassine Paper. But, once you stamp on this paper you need to immediately have to heat set it with your heat tool because it will smear and will not dry.
Note: I didn’t take photo’s of every piece of Blue Fern ephemera , papers that I would be using so I can keep a little bit as a surprise and share it on my final post.
I know this was a short post but I am trying to do this project as a series this month. Hopefully that works out. I will be back next week with another step in how to create a junk journal. So stay tuned!!
Hugs,
Jeanne

Hi everyone. Laurie here with my first project with the absolutely gorgeous Bo Bunny Botanical Journal collection. I cannot express how much I love this collection! The images and colors are exquisite.
The Bo Bunny Botanical Journal Details
I knew as soon as I received this I wanted to do a mini album. After much deliberation, I decided it made no sense to reinvent the wheel when Fotobella.com already had the perfect beginning. I used the Graphic 45 ATC Reictangle Pocket and Tag Album and just made some minor adjustments to give it my own spin.
For the cover, I trimmed down the large piece from the Noteworthy pack. I really wanted the beautiful image to be the main focus so I chose to do simple embellishments. The layered chipboard sticker and a chipboard butterfly were the perfect pieces.
A Look Inside
I added a diagonal pocket to the inside front and back covers to hold the two fabulous tags from the paper collection. I had to shorten them just a bit to fit inside. The album contains 4 page groups. Each group has a blank page, then two pages with pockets, and then another blank page. On each blank page, I added a flap to the front and back side to hold the cute seed packet cut aparts. There are 12 in the collection and I also used 4 cut aparts with just floral images.
I left the little atc tags that come with the album blank to be used for journaling. In the other 4 pockets, I added little tags from the Noteworthy collection. Behind each flap are two spots for photos.
Each of these includes a patterned photo mat and a solid one. On each solid mat, I added a small piece from the Noteworthy pack as a tuck spot for extra photos.
The Outside of the Bo Bunny Botanical Journal
To cover the spine, I measured and trimmed out a rectangle to go around the attached label. Then, I cut a small strip from a scrap and glued it down inside the frame. I used chipboard pieces for extra elements.
On the back of the album, I simply added a section of the beautiful butterfly border sticker. It was just enough to carry the botanical theme all around the cover.
How You Can Make One
Everything I used for this album can be found at the Fotobella.com online scrapbook store. They have a great variety of products to choose from and it is so easy to mix and match between collections.
Hello Friends, Diane here to share some more inspiration for you using the gorgeous Graphic 45 Fairie Wings Collections.
This little mini album was inspired by Donna Kaufman. She would use office file folders for many of her designs. So, I decided to follow one of her tutorials and make this lovely little album.
These beautiful papers are full of bright violet florals, happy daisies, lovely daylillies, charming bell flowers, wonderful blue forget me knots and memorizing bubbles. You will find fluttering butterflies and gorgeous dainty little fairies all through out this lovely paper collection. The light purples, blues, pinks, greens, yellow and sprinkles of peach are perfect for any special project.
Make a Fun Graphic 45 Tassel
I had so much fun making this colorful tassel using all kinds of ribbon and trims coordinating with my album. All the colors and textures add that little extra interest.
I have always wanted to use the G45 patterns and solids as the main focal papers for a mini album, so that’s what I did here. I also used the beautiful Journaling & Ephemera Cards, and Graphic 45’s newest addition to their line, the Die Cut Assortment.
More Album Details
Here, I selected pink and green papers to adorn these pages. Then, I covered a G45 regular tag and an ATC tag using the tag dies and journaling cards. Place on the pocket is a chipboard fairy piece from the collection, adorned with some beautiful pearls and pink ribbon. On the opposite page, I used a lovely fairy die cut from the set and then handmade some flowers using the G45 flower dies included in the Large Tag, ATC Tag & Flower Metal die set.
Here, I selected blue and yellow for my pages. Then, I placed the journaling cards in the center of my flip pages and made some handmade flowers using the G45 flower dies included in the Large Tag, ATC Tag & Flower Metal die set.
