Ciao Bella’s “The Muse” Inspires Creativity

Ciao Bella’s “The Muse” collection wants us to ponder, “Can a muse reverse roles and become a writer, with an intimate look to her soul through the magic of her own words?“ Every woman knows the answer.

ReNae here today with a fun project I hope inspires you!

In the fall of 1948, Ernest Hemingway traveled for the first time to Venice, Italy. While there, he fell in love with Adriana Ivancich, his last muse. Theirs was a surprisingly long relationship, wherein she inspired him, even though he was 30 years her senior. Even though he hadn’t published a novel in nearly a decade, she inspired him to complete “The Old Man and the Sea.” She was also the model for Renata in “Across the River and into the Trees.”

Just as Adriana inspired Ernest Hemingway to write novels, this gorgeous patterned paper “The Muse” inspired me to create a beautiful greeting card! Just look at all the beautiful patterns in “The Muse” collection!

Beautiful papers

Making the Card

To create today’s greeting card, I selected a floral pattern from Ciao Bella’s “The Muse” Limited Edition Paper Pad. This 12 x 12 pad has some of the most gorgeous floral prints I have ever seen! They are printed in Italy with organic inks on forest-friendly certified paper. Like all Ciao Bella paper collections, these papers are all about Italian high quality. They feature versatile patterns and styles, perfect for a variety of projects and applications...such as greeting cards!

Once I decided on the print I wanted from my background, I selected some floral images from “The Muse Limited Edition Paper Pad” and using a detail scissors, I fussy-cut out the printed image of a flower pot and several beautiful flowers and grapes, along with the image of a painting.

Card elements

To elevate the images I decided to use a die I had in my personal collection and cut out a mat from the “The Muse Patterns Pad” which is a 12”x12” Collection of eight double sided papers with beautiful patterns and solids (a total of 16 different designs). I die cut a strip using rose gold foil and adhered it to the mat. Once all my elements were cut out, I inked the edges with Ranger Distress Ink in Worn Lipstick and Peeled Paint. Now was ready to assemble the card!

Inside sentiment

Assembling “The Muse” Card

I adhered the floral pattern paper to the card base. Then placed the foil strip and mat to the center of the card base with dimensional adhesive. Next, I arranged the flower pot, flowers, and image of the painting to create my focal point. To add some sparkle to my card, I adhered several gems to the front of the card from the “Buttons Galore & more” Sparkletz embellishments pack.

The finished card

To complete the card, I adhered one of the sentiment panels from the pattern paper paper. It reads “I want to write things that people want to feel.” I love that sentiment because that’s the way I feel about the cards that I create! When someone receives one of my handmade cards, I hope they feel the love I’ve put into it. And when I use the Ciao Bella “The Muse” exceptionally beautiful patterned paper collection, I believe they will!
