KaiserCraft Cards

Hello Friends,

It’s Diane again. Today, I would like to share a few cards I designed and created using the New KaiserCraft collection called, “Under the Gum Leaves. This is an Australian Christmas themed collection.

Cockatoo Merry Christmas

Kaisercraft Card 1

I created this card using the ephemera included in the Kaisercraft collection bundle. This card measures 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 (A2) and it’s base is made from 110lb kraft card stock. This is a pretty simple card. Next, I place the ephemera in a pleasing design, handmade a poinsettia and die cut the gold paper for the sentiment. The leaf curio adds a beautiful element and adds extra dimension.

Kaisercraft Card 2

Since many of us have trouble creating masculine cards, I thought that this would be a good example of what can be created for that wonderful guy in your life.

The base of this card is 65lb beige card stock and measures 6 x 6. So, I layered the design paper on a piece of 5 7/8 x 5 7/8 brown card stock and then a smaller panel from the gold polka dot paper, then cut a strip of the tin looking paper from the collection and offset that on the front of the card. Next, I cut a square from gold metallic paper, stamped the kangaroo on white cardstock with versa mark. Then, embossed with gold embossing powder. Using a smaller square die cut the kangaroo out being careful not to cut the tip of his tail. Adhered all that down to the card front. Then, I embossed the sentiment cut it out and also used a wooded chip in the other corner. This makes a nice masculine card.

Merry Packages card

Kaisercraft Card 3

I love these little packages that come in the Kaisercraft die cut assortment. They are so very vintage. This card measures 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 (A2). This was a very simple card to create. The base of the card is 110lb kraft card stock. I used the wood grain as my layer, the next layer is the off white paper from the cockatoo page. Used some of the polka dot paper to cut some stripe for the top and the bottom of the card. I stamped some pine needle leaves in green ink, fussy cut them and added them to the front of my card. The rest of the images are from the die cut assortment. Once I got them placed where I wanted them, I added a twine bow to the tag.

A trio

Here is a lovely photo of all three of the cards I created. I hope they will inspire you.

Halloween “Witches Boot” Album Using Carta Bella Halloween Market

Hello crafty friends! This week I am excited to share with you the Halloween “mini” album that I have created this week as my design team project for Fotobella. I used Carta Bella’s Halloween Market collection for this project. Here is what I came up with.

Carta Bella Halloween Market Collection
Halloween Witch's Boot Chiboard Album
Cover Page of Halloween “Witch Boot” Album

Part 1 Halloween Witch’s Boot Album

I had this chipboard album in my craft hoard. I started by painting the edges with Apple Barrel Black Acrylic Paint. Then adhered each album piece directly onto the 12 X 12 pattern paper from the collection. Then went over it with a brayer spreading the glue along the entire page.

Secondly, I used a Tim Holtz Retractable Craft Knife around the paper. I did find this technique to be a little difficult. So I changed what I was doing & began to trace the chipboard page onto the 12 X 12 pattern paper. Then cut along the inside of the line that I traced.

I then finished tracing all of the pages, I adhered them onto the chipboard album using Helmar Tacky Glue. Again using the brayer to spread the glue on my pages. Then I adhered the coordinating Halloween card stock from Bo Bunny Wonderfully Wicked 12 x 12 card stock pack. This coordinating card stock was perfect for this collection.

I then took my We R Memory Keepers Crop-a-dile and punched out the holes on the pages where the binder rings and “boot laces” on this album belong. When this was done, I then finished adhering the rest of the pattern papers onto the chipboard pages. Once I had all of the pages adhered I then inked the edges using the Tim Holtz Distress Black Soot Ink.

Part II

Now the real fun began! I cut some ivory card stock into 2 1/4 X 3.5 pieces, this will be photo mats. I then also cut some orange glitter specialty paper, as well as black specialty card stock to go on bottom of the card stock I cut for the photo mats. Then adhered them to all five pages mean while altering card stock on every other page.

On the cover page, I added the flower cluster using the beautiful Bo Bunny Harvest Orange Dahlia flower pack. I also had some small black glitter/ black matte flower mix in my stash, used them on the cover page where the “boot laces” would originally go. I added one of the collection ephemera pieces on the front page.

On the rest of the pages, I altered out black & orange ribbons where the boot laces would be and the black/glitter flowers on the other pages. As I mentioned before I added the photo mats one some pages and ephemera on the other pages. As you can see, I did some stamping on pages using the stamps from Carta Bella Toil and Trouble set.

This is was such an fun and easy Halloween project to create. I love creating mini albums and these ones that are themed or variety shaped, make it that much more fun. I hope that you have gotten inspired to create something similar. I’m sure you can find different shaped chipboard albums online. I will be back next week with another project, until then , Diane is posting this month along with me this month. Until next week, be safe everyone!! XOXO, Jeanne

Kaisercraft Under the Gum Leaves Gift Bag & Tag

Hello Friends,

Diane here again to share a new project to compliment my “Under the Gum Leaves” Folio. This paper collection by KaiserCraft was a joy to work with. I just couldn’t stop making until all I had left were scraps. This paper has an Australian theme with adorable kolas, kangaroos, porcupines, emus, platypus and cockatoos. The collection is filled with flower and foliage in beautiful reds, greens, golds and khaki.

Kaisercraft Bag and Folio

I decorated a Christmas gift bag to go with my Kaisercraft Under the Gum Leaves folio. Next, I started by using the stripe paper added some crochet lace to the top of the bag. I used the All hearts come home for Christmas” and the flower die cut shapes. Then, I stamped some gum leaves in green onto white cardstock and fussy cut them out, then I took a few of the wooden chip pieces, added copper and gold embossing powder for some color. I place them all in a pleasing design with a heart die from my stash and the “Love” curio from the collection.

Here, you can see the matching pair together. This would make a lovely gift.

Finally, I took this next photo so you could see the little tag I made to compliment the bag.

Kaisercraft and Graphic 45 Tag

I have another tag to share with you. This was the original tag but when I located a gift bag for my Kaisercraft Folio, I decided this tag was too large for the gift bag. But I wanted to share it with you for some addition inspiration.

Cockatoo Tag

This tag was created using a large Graphic 45 tag for the base then I used the cockatoo paper to cover it. I stamped some gum leaves in green ink and fussy cut them, added some flowers and a hand make poinsettia. Then used some more of the wooden pieces that I embossed in copper, added some lace from my stash and a flower curio from the collection. To finish, I added the “Joy” sentiment and some Really Reasonable Ribbon to top it off. I hope you like it.

Carta Bella Layered Baseball Card Duo - Jennifer Taylor

Hi all, Jennifer Taylor here.

I hope your Summer is going as good as it can be, even in these crazy times we are in. Scrapping the day away sure helps to keep my mind calm, and creative!

Now it’s time to get your baseball fix, with the super cute vintage vibe collection from Carta Bella called ....yup you guessed it. Baseball!

Here are a couple fun cards I made.

I used the ball stadium 12 x12 paper, I then cut in half and trimmed to make these 4x6 cards. I cut the 12x12 sheet horizontally, so I could get a piece of the scene on both the insides of the cards. For both cards, I layered a piece of blue paper strip from the 6x6 paper pad and got to layering. If you know me, you know I love layering all the pieces from the die cuts, frames and stickers to give the card interest and texture.

Halloween Tussie Mussie using Carta Bella Halloween Market

When I started crafting I use to see to always see so many crafters creating these cones called “Tussie Mussies”. On Pinterest I have some boards of inspiration projects and I seen some of these I had pinned. So I decided on a Halloween themed one.

Halloween Tussie Mussie

Getting Halloween Started

The design team package I received this month included a recent collection from Carta Bella called Halloween Market. The 12x12 sheet I used for this project is very cute, fun and colorful. To begin I shaped the sheet of paper into a “cone” , I decided to not cut the tip that you see on the back area on the tussie mussie. This is optional, you can decide if you like it like this or cut it. I used then used some Helmar Tiger Grip adhesive to glue it together, make sure you start at the bottom & once you get to the top of it , use a clip to hold it in place. I prefer using this instead of hot glue but you can use the adhesive of your choice.

halloween, carta bella

Part II

Once it dried I began to embellish it. I began by taking my We R Memory Keepers Crop-A-dile and making (2) holes on the top of each side. I then added black eyelets in which I then added some matte black & orange tulle. This will be used to hang the tussie mussie. I then added a piece of pale orange, more like peach, lace onto the side of the tussie mussie where I folded the paper over to shape it to a cone. I had purchased a roll of black lace at Walmart along with the tulle and other Halloween supplies. So I then added this black lace layering the lighter colored one I previously adhered.

I then adhered a small piece of black tulle/lace trim around the bottom of the tussie mussie and also adding a piece of orange ribbon onto the center. After this I took a small piece of crinkled seam binding from MyScrapCabinshop on Instagram in the color “coral”. I adhered this onto the top side of the lace and then added a flower from Bo Bunny Harvest Orange Dahlia that was in my design team package as well. Then finished this area off with a black glittered spider sticker from Jolee’s Boutique . As well as a piece of twine with some Tim Holtz Idealogy Typed Halloween Tokens.

As you have seen as a final touch I added black shredded paper and a few mini candies. This was such a fun project to create that I am thinking that I might just create a few more to send to my grandkids for Halloween. I do hope that I have inspired you to create this for Halloween or for any other holiday or occasion. I will be back next week with another project.

I created a flap closure on the front of my folio and covered the front with gold paper and the lovely green & red striped paper from the collection. Then, I fussy cut the little kola and added him to the front flap and then hand made some beautiful poinsettias to adorn the cover.

A look inside the folio

Upon immediately opening the folio, you see the lovely floral papers and the beautiful cockatoo sitting within the foliage.

Additional details inside

Then, as you keep opening, there is a generous pocket with tags and a photo mount with room for more, a nice large waterfall for lots of photos and a few little tuck spots for journaling about your photos.

Carta Bella Baseball- Playball 12x12 page- Jennifer Taylor

Hi all, Jennifer Taylor here. Today I am stopping by to share a 12 x12 scrapbook page I made using the cool scoreboard patterned paper from the Carta Bella Baseball Collection.

This page was so fun to put together. The picture I used is a old picture of myself and my two brothers when we were all in softball/baseball that year on different teams. For this page, I used the navy ball pattern paper as the base. I then layered the, slightly trimmed small piece of the scoreboard paper on top of that.

carta bella, baseball, fotobella
12 x12/scrapbook page

For the matting around my photo that I placed in the center, I used 3 different pattern papers from the 6 x 6 paper pad and layered them on. At the title “play ball” on top I used a diecut and pop-dotted it below the clock to give dimension.

carta bella, baseball, scrapbooking

I then, grabbed all the collection embellishments- brads, enamel dots, diecuts, cardstock stickers, chipboard stickers and went crazy tucking and layering around my picture.
