Graphic 45 Ocean Blue Card Set

Design Team Project - Ocean Blue by Graphic 45

Hi everyone. Laurie, from the Design Team.

I am here with some fun cards using the gorgeous Ocean Blue collection by Graphic 45. I love, love, love this collection! As you will see, the colors are vibrant and inviting! It really makes me miss the ocean.

My approach

For the cards, I used the Ocean Blue 8x8 Paper Pad along with some of the extra fun pieces from the Die Cut Assortment.

What a fantastic addition to the already great collections these precious little gems are! Sometimes, you just want something not as thick as chipboard but more versatile than a sticker. These die cuts fit that scenario to a "T."

I love working with stripes, because you are not limited to direction. They look good both vertically and horizontally, especially when you have great cut-aparts to add as layers.

On this vertical card, I sponged all of the edges with Vintage Photo Distress Ink to add that vintage touch. I used navy cardstock as mats for the base background and the star cut-apart. To back the main cut-apart, I chose a frame from the Graphic 45 Ocean Blue Die Cut Package. Then, I added a couple of flourishes from the die cuts as well. I popped up the main image to add some dimension and make it really stand out.

For the horizontal card, I used the striped page for the base background matted onto navy cardstock. Next, I cut the "Seas the Day" piece and matted that as well. I cut the fish border strip from a page in the Ocean Blue 12x12 Collection Kit and trimmed it to fit across the mat. Then, I popped up the "Ocean Drive" die cut. I sponged the edges on all elements of the card with the Vintage Photo Distress Ink.

As you can see, this collection is amazing! It is absolutely stunning, and so much fun to work with. Even if you don't live by the ocean, you will love it! The options are endless when you have so many great pieces to play with.

I used to live near San Diego and now am by the shore of Lake Michigan. Both locations pair well with this collection and I can't wait to share my other projects with you this month! You can find the entire Graphic 45 Ocean Blue collection here. Trust me, you WANT this!!
