I hope that everyone has someone in their life who is so inspirational, and so wonderful, that even when you feel down they are the light that brightens your path.

I am so grateful and so lucky to have this person in my life.

Spoke to her on the phone the other day, and felt I needed to make a card just for her. She loves birds, bird cages and whismy colors. So this The Avenues I Want It All Bundle by BoBunny couldn't have been more perfect.

Christmas Card Album

Several years ago I made a mini album to hold my Christmas cards.  I use the album every year and I love it but somehow it never holds all the Christmas cards I receive.  That gave me the idea to make a second one with the beautiful My Mind's Eye Vintage Christmas collection.  I've been working with this collection all month for Fotobella and honestly I was just looking for another excuse to use it again!

The first thing I did was go through all the paper and decide what would be the cover and the backgrounds for the inside pages.  I kept it simple and cut the 12"x12" paper into 6"x12" pages for the album.

The Cover

All of pages of pockets to tuck cards into and some of the pages have more than one pocket so that the cards can be layered on the pages and kept from falling out.

On this page, the Holly Paper and the brown Peace paper or both pockets.

When placing the embellishments, I was careful not allow them to block access to the pocket by either removing the sticky part of the sticker or only placing adhesive on part of it.

For some of the embellishments I hand cut shapes such as the holly leaves and ornaments seen on this page.

Here is a close up of a Christmas card tucked into the side pocket of this page.

And on this page, the side green brackets are also pockets.

I bound the album using my Zutter, Bind It All.  Tied some raffia and dangly embellishments on to the spiral rings and now its ready for it's first round of Christmas Greeting and Wishes!

The papers and embellishments are really awesome in this collection and practically does the work for you when putting a project together.  Hope this has inspired you to make your own album.

Hope you have a fabulous day!

All I Want For Christmas

My latest inspiration to come from the My Mind's Eye Vintage Christmas Collection is a Christmas list.  Every year, my kids leave Santa their list of requests.  This is usually composed on a piece of torn out notebook paper and a crayon, at the last minute on Christmas Eve.  I attempt to save these with plans to scrapbook them....not sure that has actually happened yet!  Maybe I'll have better luck with this one!

The notebook patterned paper was the base of this project, naturally.  The embellishments are the chipboard pennants and button with twine.  I used the clear stamps at the bottom of the page and added a few rhinestones.

I tested it out on a 12x12 piece of patterned paper from the collection and it's going to look great next to the photo of each of my kids.  Now I can't wait to use it!  Stop by Fotobella.com to get the bundle of goodies from this collection and you can make your own!

Have a fabulous day!

Christmas Joy

Hello there Fotobella friends!  I've been busy working with this beautiful My Mind's Eye Vintage Christmas Collection.  It's such a great collection and I am loving this "Joy" background paper and the beautiful brown color.  When I spotted this paper I instantly set it aside to use for a layout.

I did something a little different than I usually do and that is add craft paint to my layout.  I've been wanting to apply this technique to my work for awhile now....and finally I have!  I used white craft paint and a sponge brush and aimlessly applied the paint to the paper.  That gave me the background of the layout to begin building the layers.

Here I made this flower using the Imaginisce 16mm punch.

I added some of the chipboard elements from the collection.

I wanted this layout to have an ecclectic but classic feel.  Ecclectic in the way of using the craft paint and the slightly sporadic placement of the embellishments and the classic look by using the traditional Christmas colors and patterns.

Have a fabulous day!

Happy Hello Card Tutorial

Supplies:
Special Sheet
Hello Sheet
Story Sheet
Buttons
Tiny Word Stickers
Stamps
Brads
Label Stickers
Bakers Twine
Double Sided Tape
Tools:
Hole Punch
Paper Cutter
Scissors

Using the Special Sheet of paper, cut a 12”x5” piece.
Fold into a tri-fold, with the inner piece shorter, so the front portion overlaps.
With some scissors, cut around the green shapes in the card

With the Hello Sheet of paper, cut a bunch of conversation bubbles out. As many as you would like

From the Story Sheet of paper, cut the Pink Heart Box out. Secure to the front of the card. I like to put a strip of double sided tape down the center, so it is easier to slip the conversation bubbles under the sides.
With the Arrow Stamp, stamp a few of them randomly on the card. Making sure there is one stamp near the bottom of the Heart.
Grab the Arrow Stickers, and place them on top of the Arrow Stamp.
Then secure the conversation bubbles around the front of the card, however you would like them. I added a few word and phrase stickers as well.
Also sticking a Flower Chipboard next to the ‘hello’ bubble.

Punch a small hole in the center of the right side. Find this cute Heart Brad, and put through the hole.
Grab some Bakers Twine or the ribbon of your choice and wrap around the card and around the brad. This will hold the card closed.

Here is a picture of the back of the card.

Vintage Christmas Layouts w/ My Mind's Eye

How many days 'til Christmas?  I don't know and I'm too afraid to look!  So I won't give the countdown either.  Today I'm featuring a project made for Fotobella's Design Team using My Mind's Eye Vintage Christmas Collections.  It is a beeeaaauutiful collection, oh my!  That's why I LOVE My Mind's Eye!

The papers are already beautifully embellished and there are lots of great goodies to go along with them.  Fotobella.com has the whole collection bundled up for you in the I Want It All Bundle

With my bundle I created a 2-page layout.

Because the paper is already embellished, I kept it simple.  I cut out a bracket shape to matte the photos with, made some flowers and added a few rhinestone and chipboard stickers.

Here are a few detail shots

Have a fabulous day!

So Happy Together Card with My Mind's Eye-The Sweetest Thing

Hello!  I am here to share a card that I made for Fotobella using the My Mind's Eye-The Sweetest Thing Tangerine Collection.

The card is made using the "Together" Round patterned paper and "So happy Together" title.

The title is embellished using stickers from the "Together" sticker sheet that were put on chipboard and made into tags.  I tied them all together using bakers twine and then adhered it to the card.

The word "Together" was embellished with Copper Stickles.

Scalloped circles were punched out of the "Round" patterned paper and mounted behind the "So happy Together" Title.  The circles on the "Round" paper were also embellished with Stickes.

Another beautiful My Mind's Eye Project!
Have a fabulous day!
