Design team post, winter frost

The first project I want to share with you today is a layout I create with Winter Frost by We R Memory Keepers. It is a layered design that is very easy to create, because it uses one basic design, overlapped several times.

First you will need to gather four patterns that you would like for your page, cutting each one a bit smaller than the last. I freehand cut all of my pieces and personally like that look.

Next, you will need to cut a triangle out of end of your papers, like this photo shows

Next, I layered them and added glue in just the center of the design. I stitched down the center to allow for lifting the edges and added some messy stitching on the edges of the banners on the top and bottom.

Now is the fun part! Now that you have your foundation, you can layer on your photo and embellishments! I place them all on before I glue them down. Here is what it looked like before I glued them down.

Lastly, I glue everything down, one element at a time.  I love the layers to pop off the page so I use a combination of zap dots and liquid glue.

Here is the finished page "Let It Snow"

I also created a simple card with layers, stitching and a cute charm. I added extra charms made with my Epiphany Crafts Epoxy tool and strung them all with twine. I wanted to also have a repeating design on my card, too.

a close up of the charms...

I love repetitive designs. They save time but look so nice, too. Do you make any repeating designs on your cards or layouts?
