Handmade Recipe Cards featuring the Simple Stories Lemon Twist Collection

Lemon Twist Recipe Cards, simple stories, fotobella

Hi crafty friends. It’s Kristine and today I have a fun kitchen project for you! Decorated with luscious lemon images, the Simple Stories Lemon Twist collection is perfect for decorating some recipe cards. Whether you have lined notecards or use a die to cut some like me, these cute cards are easy to decorate!

Supplies Used

In order to decorate my cards, I used several of the embellishments in the Simple Stories Lemon Twist collection. This includes the Washi tape, chipboard stickers, layered stickers, and the sticker book.

For the base of the recipe cards, I used teal cardstock to match the stickers in the collection. This collection of aqua toned papers from My Minds Eye would be a perfect match! Then, I used plain white paper for the front of the cards to write the recipes.

Decorating Your Simple Stories Recipe Cards

First, prepare the card bases. In my case, I will use my metal die and cut 6 teal-colored cards.

Then, I cut my white paper 1/4” smaller than the 4x6 card size so there is a small teal border around the front of the recipe cards.

After the bases are prepared, add a strip of yellow Washi tape to the bottom of the recipe card front. There is a very small teal strip at the bottom of the card. Then, add the teal and Simple Stories Lemon Washi tape over top the yellow Washi tape.

To complete the front, select one of the layered stickers for the top of the recipe cards. Place the sticker on the corner of the card, just before the tab.

For the back, each card will be decorated differently. Some of the recipe cards will have Washi tape on them, and all cards will have the chipboard stickers on them. Also, I will use some of the stickers from the Simple Stories sticker book to layer behind the chipboard.

Now that your cards are finished, it is time to add a recipe to the front of each card. They can be added to a recipe box, stuck into a book, or even bound together on a ring like mine! Happy crafting!

Creating a Steam Punk Masculine Card

stamperia, fotobella, cardmaking

Greetings! Chris here, and today I am excited to share another Steam Punk Masculine Card I created using Stamperia Cards Collection - Voyages Fantastiques! I have enjoyed this collection so much! I even admit to buying the complete paper pack for my collection! There are so many creative possibilities with this collections! Not to mention the colors are amazing!

Supplies Needed to Create your Card

Stamperia Cards Collection - Voyages Fantastiques

Colored Wooden shape A5 - Transport

Stamperia Extra Strong Glue

Other supplies

Card Base, Ink - Copper, Kraft Tags (or dies to cut tags), Kraft Card Stock, Brown Card Stock and Jute

Creating your Stamperia Steam Punk Masculine Card

Start by cutting brown card stock to fit your card base. Die cut two kraft tags - one large and one smaller. Ink the edges of your tags with your copper ink. ( I saved paper and nested my smaller tag inside the bigger one when cutting. You won’t see the bottom half of the larger tag, so you can cut it this way as well.

Now, cut the clock card from your Stamperia Cards Collection - Voyages Fantastiques. Ink the edges of your card. (hint: save other half for another card)

Adhere the large tag behind the clock card and adhere both to your card base. You can see in my image.

Adhere smaller tag onto your card base, just below the larger tag.

stamperia, fotobella, cardmaking

Mat the Masculine card from Stamperia Card Collection onto kraft card stock. Ink the edges. Mat again onto brown card stock. Add staples along edges if desired. This adds dimension and details.

stamperia, fotobella, cardmaking

Add matted piece onto your card, as shown in image.

Finish your card by adding a Balloon from Stamperia Colored Wooden shape A5 - Transport and jute bows to your tags.

I hope you are inspired to create your very own Steam Punk Masculine Card. Until next time! ~ Chris
