How to Recycle a Cigar Box With Graphic 45 Scrapbook Paper

In this tutorial I will show you how to recycle a cigar box with Graphic 45 Farmhouse scrapbook paper. It’s super easy to do and could even be a kid’s craft project with a little adult supervision.

Graphic 45 Recycled Cigar Box
Finished Cigar box using Graphic-45 Farmhouse-12x12 Collection Pack

Now, Let’s Get Started!

To make your own recycled box the first thing you have to do is strip away the old loose tape on your box. Now, when completing that step it is important to remember to leave the tape on the hinge area so the new hinge will fit properly.

Removing Tape frooxm Cigar b
Most of the tape just fell off without any problems on this box.

So, the box should look like this photo when all the tape is removed except for on the box hinge lid.

Cigar box with old hinge
The tape on this box practically fell off of it.

The next step is to add duct tape over the old hinge to reinforce it. The wood on this box was so old that the duct tape didn’t want to stick to it. Finally, I gave up and just glued it in place.

Graphic 45 Farmhouse Time

Now, it was time to pick out the scrapbook paper from FotoBella Online Scrapbook Store. This store carries lots of brand name scrapbooking supplies including this Graphic-45-Farmhouse-12x12 Patterns and Solid Pad.and it’s matching accessories. They have easy online shopping, great sales, and super friendly customer service.

Cover the Cigar Box with Paper

So, after the scrapbook paper has been picked out, it’s time to cover the rest of the cigar box edges. It’s works best if you use a large piece of paper on the back of the hinge extending well onto the bottom of the box, this way the new hinge will be fully supported.

Scrapbook paper covering the hinge.
.

*Tip*

When covering the edges of the box be sure and don’t cover the sides of the lid. The lids can be a tight fit, and most lids will tear the paper when the lid is opened or closed. Especially during normal use.

Cigar box lid without scrapbook paper
I didn’t glue any paper to the side of my lid.

The next step is to apply the paper to the inside lid of the box. When that is dry you can add the paper to the sides, and bottom of the box. Now, you can add lots of fun accents like bling, stickers, or your choice of decorations.

Scrapbook paper glued down the inside of my box.

In the photo below, you can see the Graphic-45 Farmhouse-12x12 Collection Pack that was also used to decorate this recycled cigar box. I love this scrapbook paper, it’s just so adorable!

There papers are all double sided with great patterns on each side..

It’s at this point, you can add the scrapbook paper to the bottom of the box, along with a journalling card. These cards also work well for project life type projects.

Now, take a look at some of these cute double sided journaling cards from the farmhouse collection. These items can be purchased here - Graphic45-Farmhouse Ephemera and Journaling Cards

i love the farmhouse style of these cards.

Next, decorate the top of your box with any accents you like to use. These boxes can also be made into purses, or can have small locks, or other metal embellishments added to them.

How to Scrapbook Black and White Photos with the Graphic 45 Farmhouse Collection

Graphic 45 Farmhouse Layout
Graphic 45 Farmhouse Layout

For my own black and white photo, I wanted to choose an older, more rustic pattern paper style to match my photo. This Graphic-45-Farmhouse-12x12 Patterns and Solid Pad fit those needs perfectly. Lots of solids and prints that matched my photo’s old time charm.

Graphic 45 Patterns and Solids
Graphic-45-Farmhouse-12x12 Patterns and Solid Pad

First, I chose this lovely Graphic 45 pattern for my background page. An aged gingham, perfect for any vintage layout.

Visit FotoBella for Graphic 45 Products

These papers, and many other scrapbooking products are available at the FotoBella Online Scrapbook Store. You will find their products are priced very affordable and they stock a wide variety of manufacturers to suit all of your crafting needs .

Farmhouse, FotoBella
Layout with top border applied

For my next step, I added the top sticker strip to this layout. It is was from the Graphic 45 Farmhouse Sticker Sheets. I love when companies make these matching embellishments for their paper packs. It makes crafting your project fun and easy. These farmhouse designs are perfect for any black and white photo.

Graphic 45 Farmhouse Stickers

Next, I added a strip to the top of my layout.

Then, I added another sticker strip onto some of the matching paper on the bottom of my layout. Super easy!

Graphic 45 Bottom borders
Layout with both borders applied

After, I then started to mount my photo onto some green and brown cardstock. Then, I flipped it over and added foam tape to the back of it so that it gave my layout some depth.

I Blame The Dog!

You’ll notice that the strips look a little frayed in places. That design element was added by the new puppy my grandson received. She decided she liked the taste of foam tape.

Next Steps

My next couple of steps, were to mount my black and white photo to the Graphic 45 page and add some other embellishments.

(I should have added the black corner mounts to my photo mat before gluing it on my paper. I unfortunately forgot to do this so I had to pry up my pieces and add them after the fact. )

Add photo to your layout
My layout with the black and white photo added to it.

Also, I used accent pieces that came from the Graphic45-Farmhouse Ephemera and Journaling Cards These cards are double sided and are fun to use. Like the other pieces, they fit into my black and white photo theme perfectly. This photo only shows a portion of the styles included in the Farmhouse package.

I used die cut pieces from the Graphic 45-Farmhouse Die cut Assortment I adored these die cuts. They came in a variety of great shapes, and patterns.

Next, I added more fun stickers and cards from the Graphic 45 Farmhouse collection to my black and white photo layout. These die cuts are so fun and easy to use!

Getter closer to a finished layout.

Finally, I finished off my black and white layout I added brads, a twine bow, and some gems. I loved how it turned out! I hope you use this example to get your own black and white photos out of storage and in to your scrapbook albums.

Echo Park Salon Collection 8 x 8 and 12 x 12 Scrapbook Pages

Hi all, Jennifer Taylor here. Hope you are all staying well and doing lots of crafting!
Today, I am here to share with you two scrapbook pages I made using the Echo Park Salon Collection from FotoBella.

echo park, salon collection

Let’s Get Started!

First, For this page, I used the green Echo Park Salon 12 x 12 gingham paper as my base. Then, I used the left over 6 x 6 paper that I diecut butterflies out of for my basket project as my anchor for the right side of the photo and layering the floral paper underneath.

After I adhered those, I just kinda went nuts tucking in layers everywhere using chipboard pieces, stickers and diecuts. I added final touches with the tiny floral chipboard circles and enamel dots.

Finish your Echo Park 12x12 Page

Lastly, I outlined the butterflies with black marker to tie in the black around the page.

Let’s make the 8x8 Layout

For the 8 x 8 page that I made, I used a solid Echo Park Coral paper as the base then layered on the splash print paper. The color palette of this collection just reminds me of colors of Easter eggs.

So I made an Easter page.

First, I layered the floral paper and green pattern paper to the right of the photo. Then, I used the same technique as the 12 x 12 page, by layering all the bits of chipboard ,stickers, and diecuts around the photo til I was happy with it.

Next, I added the title with letters from my stash and even used the negative sticker strips from the scalloped sticker border the add the the edges of my layering. Finally, I finished this page with clusters of floral circle stickers and enamel dots.

Hi all. Jennifer Taylor here.
Today I am stopping by to share two A2 size card I made, using the Echo Park Salon Collection. These cards are great to send to a friend, that needs a lil encouragement.

echo park, salon collection

Let’s Start the Cards

For both of the bases, I used the grey solid paper from the Echo Park Coordinating Solid Paper Pack. On this first card, I used the scalloped pink sticker strip to put along both sides.

Then, I added the backside of the diecut (white) as my card center. Next, I layered two more diecuts on top .

Finally, I finished with a chipboard mascara brush, a couple enamel dots and a doodled border.

Onto the Second Echo Park Card

For my second card, I distressed the edges of the card base for texture . Next, I adhered the largest diecut from the frame and diecut packs into the center of the card.

Then, I traced the banner design with a black marker to make it stand out a little more. Lastly, I added the chipboard floral piece to the bottom edge and put a black enamel dot into the middle to finish it.

How to Make a Three Photo Scrapbook Layout using Graphic 45 Farmhouse

Hi everyone, Penny here! This month I was so happy to play with the Graphic 45 Farmhouse I Want It All Bundle from FotoBella.

Today I’m going to show you how to make a three photo scrapbook page with various size photos. It’s super easy and helps to cut down on all those photos you need to scrapbook.

Graphic 45 Farmhouse Layout
Scrapbook layout showcasing two brothers

Let’s Get Started

I started my layout by selecting 3 different photos. I left one photo in the standard 4 x 6 size, then I cut the other two photos down to fit the smaller areas that were left on my page. Then I choose my paper from this Graphic 45 12x12 Patterns & Solids Paper Kit.

Graphic 45 Solid and Pattern 12 x 12
Graphic-45-Farmhouse-12x12 Patterns and Solid Pad

My next step, was to mount my 4 x 6 photo onto more of the Farmhouse collection, and add the photo corners. Then, I placed another piece of the Graphic 45 pattern paper collection under the photo. (Remember to add your photo corners to your accent pieces prior to gluing them down) I didn’t glue these items in place yet however, because my ribbon will go underneath this photo.

Graphic 45 Farmhouse Collection
Adding my 4 x 6 photo to my layout.

Check out FotoBella.com

Next, I chose a cute ribbon holder from this Graphic 45-Farmhouse Die cut Assortment. All of the Graphic 45 products on this page are available at the FotoBella Online Scrapbook Store. Be sure and check them out if you are looking for brand name products at a great price.

Graphic 45 Die Cut Assortment

Graphic 45 Ribbon How-To

To add this ribbon holder, first, thread the ribbon though the die cut. Then, I used brads from the Graphic 45 Collection, to hold the ribbon in place. I didn’t glue the die cut in place yet however, because I wanted to make sure it didn’t cover any of my photo placements.

Graphic 45 Farmhouse Die Cuts
Make sure your ribbon and holder doesn’t cover your next photo placement.

When adding your other accessories and photos, I suggest you lay them out prior to gluing them in place. This way you can easily move things to accommodate your other three photos. Some of my Graphic 45 elements have foam tape under them to add texture to my three photo layout.

Don’t forget to add your photo corners!

Pictured below is just a sample of the Graphic45-Farmhouse Ephemera and Journaling Cards. They are double sided and come in sizes that will also fit project life projects, or your homemade cards.

Graphic 45 Farmhouse Journaling Cards
Graphic45-Farmhouse Ephemera and Journaling Cards

It was finally time to add my third and final photo to my three photo layout. I trimmed it down to fit the space I had left on my layout. Then, I added strips of Graphic 45 pattern paper and stickers.

Layout with all three photos added

Finish your Graphic 45 Layout

My final steps were to add the title alphabet stickers, and brads to my layout. Don’t be afraid to make your own three photo layout! Adding multiple photos to your layouts is a great way to help get caught up on your scrapbooking pages.

Graphic 45 3 photo layout
My Completed Three Photo Layout

Now that my layout was complete, I needed somewhere to store my left over supplies. I also needed somewhere to store my completed layouts till I could get them into my albums. Luckily, FotoBella Online Scrapbook Store thought about that problem when they invented the FotoBella Clear Storage Box for 12x12-Paper and Projects.

FotoBella Storage
12 x 12 Page and Kit Storage

This wonderful storage system is fabulous! I have purchased several of these myself, and they are perfect for keeping your paper collections together with their embellishments. It also makes scrapbooking so easy when you can store all of your items together. Be sure and stop by again to see other fun projects and ideas! Love Penny
