A Day At The Beach Layout

Jeri here today with a layout that will have you all dreaming you were at the beach, buried in the warm sand!

I had family come out to California last month, they rented a beach house and of course spent most of their time playing in the ocean.

The Carta Bella Paper Let’sCruise is the perfect collection to document vacation at the water this Summer.

I gathered some of my favorite pictures from their beach days and pared them with bright prints and images from this collection. For some detail, I used the Tim Holtz Stamp and Prima Marketing Color Bloom Paint Sprays on the base sheet.

I hope you are enjoying your Summer so far! Head on over to FotoBella to grab some collections that will pair perfectly with your vacation images!

Are We There Yet Carta Bella Mini Album

Are we there yet?  I mean who hasn't heard that question from your kids when traveling?  It's the perfect title for a vacation collection and Carta Bella's got it with their "Are We There Yet?" collection.  Apryl here with the FotoBella Design Team sharing my latest design project featuring this great collection found at FotoBella.com.

Anyone made a paper bag album lately?  Now that school's out, I've got these paper lunch bags taking up space in the pantry so I'm putting them to good use along with my scrapbook supplies.  Paper bags albums make great quick little albums and are perfect to give to your kids to document vacation adventures.

Supplies Needed:

  • 12-6"x6" pieces of paper Cities to See, State Map, Beach Route, Region Strips (front cover), Parks Pass and Get on the Road
  • Are We There Yet Chipboard stickers
  • Are We There Yet 12"x12" Sticker sheet from collection pack
  • Are We There Yet Layered Stickers
  • three paper lunch bags 6 1/8"x4"x12 3/8" (Up Target brand)
  • We R Memory Keepers Anywhere Stapler
  • Baker's twine-navy/white

To assemble this album.  stack the three lunch bags, fold them in the middle and bind using staples down the middle crease. If you have a sewing machine, stitching the bags together down the crease is a great option as well!

Cut the 12 6"x6" pages out of the patterned paper and glue to the paper bag pages.  You'll see that the openings at the end of the paper bags make great pockets.  The pockets can be used to stash memorabilia, or pocket pages would be fun also. To make pocket pages, cut them slightly smaller that 6"x6" so that they slide in and out easily.

As you can see, I matched up some of the papers to create a fluid two page spread look, others I mixed and matched.  The embellishments are the journal cards, chipboard stickers and layered stickers found in the Are We There Yet? Carta Bella collection.

Our big summer vacation coming up will be to Yellowstone and the Grand Tetons, so I was excited these destinations were included in this collection!

I had so much fun making this album, before I finished the first one, I decided to make two.  I actually made them at the same time, and it was super quick.  My plan is to give each of my kids one to fill with pictures and documentation while we are on the road in the RV.

Get this collection to document your summer vacation and you won't regret it.
Have a happy summer!

Sweet Summer Card

Today kicks off the first day of Summer, bringing with it lots of delicious fruits that I look forward to every year! Drea here with the Design Team, and I dug through some of my older bundles to come up with this card featuring Bo Bunny's Forever Young Collection from FotoBella.com. No matter what collection you're using, Bo Bunny's Ephemera is always the perfect choice for card making!

From the Ephemera, I used the papers inked with Black Soot Distress Ink, and the arrow from the stamp set that I embossed in white. The card base measures 6"  X 6" from white cardstock, which I also used to make the banner inked with Festive Berries Distress Ink and my Blending Tool. Then I added the grey and black alpha stickers that come in the 12 X 12 Collection Pack, and the SWEET banner piece that comes in the Noteworthy. All of the fruit is also included in the Noteworthy pack, besides the Chipboard. Then I finished it off with my signature hand-stitching.

Have a wonderful Summer from all of us at FotoBella

Happy Father's Day

Happy Father’s Day from the team here at FotoBella.

Hello everyone, Jeri here to show you the Father’s Day Card I made for my Dad.

I recently bought a Silhouette Cameo from FotoBella, and I think it’s one of my most favorite purchases ever! Not only did FotoBella offer the best price out there, but they offered a bundle which came with heat transfer sheets and a month free of Silhouette Store downloads.
I have used this machine non stop since it arrived.  And of course I wanted to cut something unique for my Father’s Day Card.

I found this awesome Tool Card in the Silhouette Store, and knew it was perfect.

I gathered some Silver paperWood paper and the awesome Brick Sheet from the Bo BunnyLife in Color I Want It All Bundle.

The new Silhouette V4.0 program is incredible! So easy to use!! I was able to open up the file for this card and pick and choose which parts I wanted cut out of which paper. Easily loaded the machine, easily cut and easily put together all of the parts.

Used some double sided tape to stick this gift card inside and left a little room for a note.

When making a card, you always need to hand make a matching envelope. The We R Memory Keepers Envelope Punch Board makes this super quick and super easy!

Just choose your envelope size, cut cardstock to size, make a few punches and score lines! Use some good adhesive to put it all together, and you have are finished!

If time is flying by you, and today snuck up too quickly, it is not too late to make a card for all the wonderful Dads in your life. A simple sheet of paper, folded with some heartfelt words inside is all you need.

Don’t forget to stop by FotoBella and see all the new products, machines and tools we have

Stamperia Around the World Layout

Hello FotoBella Fans! Drea here with the Design Team, and I'm back with another layout featuring Stamperia's Around the World collection, and this great photo of my late grandpa.

These awesome papers were just screaming to be torn and distressed! Then I had to add some splashes with the Tim Holtz Splatters Stencil. The first layer was done with Weathered Wood Distress Ink applied with my Blending Tool. Next came a coat of Prima Marketing's Clear Gesso for some dimension. Once dry, I used my finger to smudge a little of Tumbled Glass Distress Crayon from Set #5 without the stencil.

I fussy-cut the fish on top, and inked the edges with Hickory Smoke Distress Ink, also used around half of the paper behind the photo. Then I gave it a coat of Ranger's Glossy Accents to give it that fresh out of the water look, and popped it up with some foam tape.

Not wanting to cover the whale with my paper layers, I used an X-acto knife to cut him in half, and also gave him a coat of Glossy Accents.

I wish I knew the story behind this photo, but was able to preserve my late Grandma's handwriting on the back of the photo by printing it onto a torn piece of the cream paper inked along the bottom and right edges with Vintage Photo Distress Ink. I love how closely it matches the script on the background paper!  I also added one of her buttons to the center of the Wooden Embellishment.

Thanks for looking, and shop FotoBella.com for these supplies and more!

Stamperia Around the World Getting Around Layout

Hello! Drea here with the FotoBella Design Team, and I've been saving this precious family photo on my dad's side, that dates back to 1915, for just the right collection. As soon as I saw the vintage Stamperia Around the World Collection, from FotoBella, I knew it was meant to scrap this photo with. Not only does the background paper match the color and texture of the bricks in the photo, but even the style of the bikes match perfectly!

Other than the postcard that I cut below the photo, inking the edges with Walnut Stain Distress Ink, the rest of the papers from the 12 X 12 Paper Pad were torn, including the black cardstock matting the photo. Then I used my finger to apply Prima Marketing's Metallique Wax (Rich Copper) to the edges.

I also used the Wax to cover the black alpha stickers that I had stashed away for YEARS now, in my title and for the date, machine stitching the zigzag underneath.

And finally, I used the Wax over Prima Marketing's Heavy Black Gesso that I applied to the Bike Stencil.

Thanks for taking a peek, and shop FotoBella.com for these supplies and more!
