Jack and Jill (and Julie!) A Tutorial

This is ReNae from the FotoBella Design Team!
I recently had the opportunity to play with Echo Park's Jack & Jill "I want it all Bundle" by FotoBella. The paper collection or "Bundle" we are featuring today is from the Jack and Jill paper collection by Echo Park.  Beautiful shades of red and green with complementary shades of yellow and neutrals. Perfect for a little girl, daughter, sister or niece.
The Bundle includes chipboard accents, decorative brads, enamel dots, designer stamps and a designer die.  We have included an ephemera pack with tons of die cuts, beautiful designer paper including 3"x 4" and 4" x 8" Journaling Cards, (perfect for pocket letters or Project Life style scrapbooking) coordinating washi tape, and Alpha and Element stickers complete the bundle.
I decided to make a tag for today's post, and for fun I decided to incorporate another great product available at FotoBella.com.
I used a technique called "Paper Piecing" to make the dolls.  It's a fun and easy way to step up your stamping!  Here's how!
Select your stamp and place on acrylic block.
Stamp the doll image on your background paper.

Next, stamp the articles of clothing...skirt, shirt and shoes.  Also stamp the doll's hair. Choose your paper accordingly.

With a sharp scissors, cut out the hair, shirt, skirt and shoes.
This is how it will look.  Once you get the look you want, adhere the clothing, hair and shoes to the corresponding stamped image.
It's that easy!  And it's fun!  You can create all kinds of different looks just by using different paper!
The patterned paper is like fabric!  You can stamp as many skirts and shirts as your paper and imagination allows!

I hope you'll try Paper Piecing the next time you stamp...and be sure to  check FotoBella.com for the Jack and Jill Bundle
and our large selection of Julie Nutting stamps!

Happy Creating!

South Pacific "Hawaiian Rainforest" Layout

Drea here taking you to a tropical rainforest with Basic Grey's South Pacific Collection!  I scrapped one of the few photos I have of myself in Hawaii, at age 14, looking bored and slightly annoyed at the time, because I wanted to be at the beach. Lol!

I used the stickers to make my title, cutting and inking "RAINFOREST" into a banner.  The green background was misted,  and then I stamped the leaf border in two shades of green with the Enjoy The Journey Clear Stamp. I also stamped the date on the banner sticker, and HILO onto the paper behind the photo with some old stamps I have. The hand selected Ephemera exclusively from FotoBella is full of fabulous diecuts, buttons, brads, transparencies, rhinestones, and ribbons that match the collection so well!! I added some of the green buttons to my leaf border, and the green ribbons going across the page, adding a bow on the left.

For some added texture I used some burlap from my own stash, and hand-stitched the dark green border right under my photo. Then I popped up my floral diecut to finish it off!

This collection is so beautiful, and is currently my favorite from Basic Grey! Make sure to get yours for any tropical or travel projects you have!

Shine Bright Tag

Echo Park's Anything Goes Bundle from FotoBella lives up to its name of Anything Goes.  There was a chipboard sticker in the collection that said, shine bright like a diamond.  I was determined to use it some how.  I thought it would make for a great tag.  I also decided to use the die cut diamond to go with it and make some of my own flowers out of the diamond paper included in the collection.

Tags can be so much fun to make.  They usually come together pretty quickly.  Now to figure out what to do with them all!

Have a beautiful day! Smiles, Jessica

My Happy Place Double Page Layout Tutorial

My Happy Place Double Page Layout

Supplies:
Sandcastle Sheet
Neptune Sheet
Sail Away Sheet
Playtime Sheet
Drift Sheet
Beach Bliss Sheet
Seaside Sheet
Boardwalk Sheet
Noteworthy
Brads
 Stickers
Chipboard
Pencil
Plate for Circle
Double Sided Tape

Photo Sizes:
1 @ 5” x 6”
4 @ 4” x 4”
Tools:
Knife
Ruler
Hot Glue Gun
Scissors

Start with the Sail Away Sheet and a large circle stencil. I used a plate. Draw the circle lightly.
With some water, wet the tip of your finger and trace the circle. Continue around until the whole circle line is damp. Let set for a few seconds.

Carefully start to tear the sheet on the wetted circle line. Continue to tear, until you have finished separating the circle.

Using a spray bottle or water from the tap, slightly dampen the circle. Let the water seep into the page, and then start to crumple the paper. Set aside to dry.

Grab your 5 photos and the Playtime Sheet. Using double sided tape, secure one photo at a time to the paper, and then cut the paper with about a ¼” border around the image. Do the same for the rest of the photos, you might need to use some of the 2nd Playtime Sheet as well.

Check on your circle to see if it is dry enough.
Grab the Sandcastle Sheet and place the circle on the right side of it. Once you have it placed how you prefer, secure it with either hot glue or double sided tape.

Turn the page over. Place a ruler or a straight edge on the edge of the paper. With your knife, carefully cut the excess of the circle. Be careful not to damage it, as you will be using it on the other half of your double page layout.

Turn the page so the right side is up, and grab the Neptune Sheet. Place this next to the left side of the layout, and line up the circle. Once you have it placed, secure it with hot glue or double sided tape.

Using a Tim Holtz Distress Ink that matches your photo borders, ink all the edges.

Starting on the left layout, secure the large photo on the page where you like.
Find the ‘Happy Place’ Noteworthy, and secure them above the photo.

Head over to the right page of the layout. Place your remaining 4 photos on the page, closer to the left side. Once you have them placed how you like, secure them with double sided tape.
Find this ‘Sunshine’ saying on the Sandcastle Sheet, and secure to the bottom right corner.

Gather some Die Cuts you like. Also cut some of the fun squares out of the Boardwalk Sheet, and punch some circles from Seaside, Beach Bliss and Drift Sheets. I used a 2” Circle Punch, but you can use whatever size you like. I also cut 3 ‘Tag’s’ out of the pages as well, for layering.
Set them up on the sheet, and move them around until you like them visually.
Pull some extra ones to use on the right layout, and switch them up until you like how both collages look.
With the ‘Summertime’ Sticker, place this at the bottom right of the photo.

Pick a few of the cut outs from both sides of the layout. Spray these with water, let the water soak in, and then crumple them.
Set aside to dry.

Once all are dry, you can ink the edges of the cut outs.
Start placing them back on the layout pages.

I recommend just placing the pieces down without securing them, until you are happy with the look of it.

Once happy with how it looks, start to secure the pieces down with double sided tape. I added some Brads to the tags.
I also chose some of the Starfish, and smaller Die Cuts to add layer and detail. Secure these down to both pages.

Head over to the right layout side and secure details down once you are happy with the look of it.

Start adding layers and details. I added Chipboard Stickers and Buttons.

I also added Starfish to my layout title.

Step back and look at your completed My Happy Place Double Page Layout.

Best Friends Layout

Welcome! Jessica here with you today sharing a layout I did using Echo Park's Anything Goes Bundle from FotoBella.

I found these pictures of my girls from a couple years ago.  The colors of the collection work great with the pictures.  I love 4x4 photos.  It is just a great size to me.  This layout is really simple and came together in minutes.  I love when that happens!

Have a beautiful day! Smiles, Jessica

Love this Layout with Bo Bunny Juliet

Wow! Have you seen Bo Bunny's Juliet collection?  The I Want It All Bundle from FotoBella.com is packed full of fabulous stuff!  It's Apryl with the Design Team here today and I just fell in love with the roses and fleur de lis in this collection!  The other great thing about the Bo Bunny collection is the Ephemera, especially the paper pieces.  They are perfect for layering, which I love to do!

There are a lot of layers here.  Each layer has a torn edge and all edges are inked so that they stand out against each other.  I kept the colors light so that the eye would be more drawn to the photo in the center.

I took some gold twine and laid it down between some of the layers, fussy cut the roses and "My Beloved" sticker for the embellishments.

A few things that aren't included in the bundle but found it's way on this layout are Stickles and sequins.  I used the Stickles to add sparkles to the roses and randomly glued the sequins throughout the layout.

Check out the Bo Bunny Juliet I Want It All Bundle at FotoBella.com so you can get started on your own fabulous projects.

Have a fabulous day!
